Oil for Mazda Demio 1st generation
To purchase a suitable oil, you will need to name the SAE viscosity index and acceptable API oil quality for a diesel or gasoline engine. (Manufacturer's choice at your discretion).
Over the years, the Demio engine ages (gets tired), the parameters in the table take into account the age of the cars and are relevant for changing the oil in 2021.
If the car is operated all year round in a region where the cold season predominates, then the appropriate oil viscosity class must be taken from the winter or all-season columns.
For example:
for petrol engine Mazda Demio (1st generation) 1996 when operating in 2021, all-season semi-synthetic oil 10W-30 with SG quality is suitable, and for models 2007 onwards. For the cold season, semi-synthetic 0W-30 \ SJ is good.
If the car is operated all year round in a region with a predominant warm season, then the appropriate oil viscosity class must be taken from the all-season column.
Mazda Demio DY (Mazda2,Verisa) 2002-2007
According to the manual, the parameters of the recommended engine oil for Mazda Demio are selected depending on the type of car engine.
Engines ZJ-VE and ZY-VE
It is recommended to fill in lubricants that meet the API classification - oil class SJ or SL. The viscosity parameters of liquids are selected depending on the temperature range that meets the operating conditions of the machine until the next oil change (see diagram 1). Explanation of diagram 1:
It is necessary to use lubricants 0w - 20 in Mazda Demio cars with high mileage or in the warm season with great caution. This is due to the low viscosity of the lubricant. Before using it, you need to be sure that the power unit and its sealing elements are in good condition.
The volume of lubricant required during replacement, taking into account the change of the oil filter, is 3.9 liters.
Power units FUJA/B or FXJA/B
The Mazda Demio manufacturer recommends using motor oils that meet the SJ class according to API standards. The selection of lubricant viscosity is made according to diagram 1, the explanation of the diagram is described above in the text. The volume of motor fluid required when changing the motor oil, taking into account the oil filter, is 3.8 liters.

Cars used in the USA and Canada
According to the Mazda 2 instructions, it is recommended to use lubricants that meet the following specifications:
- original Mazda motor fluids;
- motor oil viscosity 0w - 20 (used at temperatures from -40°C (or less) to +50°C (or more), helps save the fuel mixture;
- meeting API requirements and ILSAC standards - oil classes GF-4/GF-5 with the above viscosity.
The manufacturer indicated that it has received the appropriate approvals allowing the use of certain types of its motor oil for a given car model. Tolerances are applied to the lubricant canister.
The volume of engine oil required during replacement, including the oil filter, is 3.9 liters.
Mazda2 DJ 2014-2019
The manufacturer of the Mazda 2 recommends using different lubricants depending on the type of power unit.
Car engines SKYACTIV-G 1.3 and SKYACTIV-G 1.5 (for Europe)
According to the Mazda 2 manual, engine oils must meet the following characteristics:
The volume of lubricant that will be needed when changing the oil, taking into account the change of the oil filter, is 4.2 liters.
Engines SKYACTIV-G 1.3 or SKYACTIV-G 1.5 LP (except Europe)
According to the Mazda2 instructions, it is recommended to use motor fluids with the following parameters:
Viscosity is selected depending on the temperature outside the machine:
The volume of lubricant that will be needed when changing the oil, taking into account the change of the oil filter, is 4.2 liters.
Car engines SKYACTIV-G 1.5 MP or SKYACTIV-G 1.5 HP
It is recommended to use motor oils having the following characteristics:
The viscosity of the lubricant depends on the temperature of the region in which the vehicle is operated:
Mazda Demio DW 1996-2002

In the Mazda Demio operating instructions, the car manufacturer recommends lubricants that meet the following parameters:
- in accordance with API classification - oil type SH, SJ or SG;
- The volume of engine oil required when replacing, taking into account the change of the oil filter, is 3.2 liters.
The car manufacturer recommends selecting the viscosity depending on the temperature of the region in which the car will be operated as follows:
- 5w - 30 is used at temperatures from +10°C to -29°C (or less);
- 10w - 30 is used at temperature conditions above -18°C;
- 15w - 40 or 20w - 50 is poured if the air temperature ranges from -12°C to +38°C (and higher).
Engine oil for MAZDA DEMIO engine
The Japanese idea of producing a middle-class car, small in size, economical and with a spacious interior, was realized in 1996. The increased body height of the released Mazda Demio model brought it closer to station wagons; its dimensions were reminiscent of mini-vans. The design of the new product was made on a hatchback platform and successfully took its place in the compact car segment with a spacious and functional interior.
24 years of sales and modifications in four generations indicate that Mazda Demio has found its admirers on the world market; this model still occupies a place in the production line of Mazda cars.
MAZDA DEMIO ENGINE OIL – HOW OFTEN TO CHANGE
Touching a little on the history of the model, we can come to the conclusion that over such a long period, there should be quite a few cars. Moreover, car care of different ages is not the same. For example, the frequency of oil changes for a new car is set by the manufacturer and is an important issue in maintaining warranty obligations. The first oil and oil filter change occurs after the end of the running-in period, at 5,000 km. Then at 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 135, 150, 165, 180, but at least once a year.
If the car is not new and the engine has a long service life, more than 180 thousand km, it is recommended to replace the engine oil and oil filter every 10,000 km, but at least once a year.
Depending on the type of oil, its replacement may occur when the cold and warm seasons change. The temperature range for use is indicated on the canister.
If the vehicle is frequently overloaded by weight, low-quality gasoline is used, the vehicle is idle for a long period of time, and other difficult operating conditions are encountered, it is recommended to change the oil every six months or 7,500 km, whichever comes first.
Demio engine oil
Kind people! Please advise a beginner Demiovody which oil is best to pour into the engine. Which is better for winter and summer or all-season, I don’t know about these issues.
What are your preferences for oil brands? I will accept any advice.

The main thing is REFINED! In general, the search rules. Below there is a whole thread about who is uploading what.
In general, this is a matter of whoever wants it, so it flows. Personally, I recommend Mobil1 Rally Formula 5w50. Hollow synthetic. There are more than enough resources of this oil for Demio. And you can change. like any synthetics, 10-15 times. My father Karina is 88 years old. He bought it without troubleshooting about 6 years ago and always pours this oil into it. The engine is 18 years old, and it works like a clock. Even the oil seals don’t leak from synthetics on such an old engine!
Why the hell do you need 5w50? StarLey vbmenu_register("postmenu_105158", true); definitely use imported synthetics - Mobil, Castrol, Neste and others - it doesn’t matter! I've driven 10,000 thousand on a nest, now I'm riding a shell. The markings are the same. Always. 5w40. Both in winter and in summer. Everything is OK! If it is very cold, pour 0w30 or 40, but this is of no use. Why 50? You're not driving a formula car!
But because Rally Formula only comes in 5w50. And finally, Mobile only has this synthetic and 0w40 - but this is already a very cool oil.
Are there any other good oils besides Mobile?! Eat! And cheaper!
That means 5w40, but in the book that came with the car I found it written 5w30 or 10w30? what is the difference with 5w40?
And also tell me the frequency of replacing spark plugs?
Oh, a lot cheaper or what? Maximum 500 rubles for 1 shift. Is this money? And then, when compared with the shittiest cheap oil. And between synthetics the difference will be even less. Finally, this is a debate “who has a thicker pussy”, gee
5w30 and 10w30 are thicker than 5w40. The manual specifies oil thicker than which should not be poured into the engine.
2A.V. 500 rubles is a lot. In the summer I filled it with esso 10w40 - 540 rubles with a filter and replacement. In the winter I filled it with castrol 3w30 - 1010 rubles with a filter and replacement. In the first case, semi-synthetics - in the second - synthetics.
Finnish psynthetics - for me, it seems normal
There was a mistake, everything is the other way around. 30 is thinner than 40. And 40 is thinner than 50.
There is no need to pour 5w50 into a Mazda, the engine may not withstand such violence for a long time, especially if you anneal it.
Use 5w30 or 10w30 in warm weather.
When the engine starts to eat oil and there is nothing left to lose, switch to 5w40.
Well, in the sense of 5w30 all year round, or 10w30 if there is no frost below -15.
I don’t understand, what’s wrong (besides the price) with pouring 5W50? That it is very “thick”? Then it would not be possible to drive it in winter. Or that it is too “liquid”? Then you can't drive it in the summer? Or is its disadvantage that it is synthetic and can begin to be pressed from under the seals? Then the problem is solved by replacing the seals. What do you think constitutes “violence against the engine”?
Yes, this is all nonsense. I have good evidence. Toyota's 18-year-old 4A-FE engine on my father's Karina. Works like a clock. and all year round there is RallyFormula oil, which is 5w50. This oil does not change its properties in the temperature range from -40 to +50. And it's not thick at all.
For the especially stubborn. Performance characteristics of Mobil oils
5w-30 fe Kinematic viscosity at 40°С, cSt 53.6 Kinematic viscosity at 100°С, cSt 9.9
5w-50 rf Kinematic viscosity at 40°C, cSt 103 Kinematic viscosity at 100°C, cSt 17
Almost 2 times.
Or does Mazda just write to pour 30 oil? Look at the archives wwwboards*********/oil.
I looked through the archives, thanks. But 5W50 is completely synthetic!
