Well, the most important thing that you should always remember is the timely change of engine oil, which must be done at least once every 15,000 km of your VAZ 2110-2112. And it will be even better if this gap is significantly reduced to 7,000 km.
Step-by-step instruction
- To carry out oil change work, you need to slightly warm up the engine, which will allow you to easily drain such fluid oil. All work is done on a lift or garage pit. With some skill, the car owner will be able to change the engine oil by placing the car on a flat surface. You will only need to carefully unscrew the drain plug, placing a suitable flat container under the leaking oil.
- We drive the car onto the overpass, warm up the engine, after which you can drain the oil from the engine. To unscrew the drain plug you will need a #17 open-end wrench. Carefully unscrew the plug in the pan and wait for the technical fluid to drain from the crankcase. As a rule, this takes 10 minutes. After this, we wipe the oil pan and screw back the drain plug.
- If you plan to flush the engine immediately after the old lubricant has been drained, you need to pour flushing liquid into the engine and let the power unit idle for about 10 minutes.
- Next, drain the liquid and begin replacing the filter. The oil filter can be removed with a special puller or you can pierce the filter element housing with a flat screwdriver. If you use a screwdriver for these purposes, then you need to pierce the filter as far from the thread as possible.
- Carefully unscrew the old filter and drain the remaining liquid from it. Next, screw in the new oil filter, having previously lubricated its rubberized gasket. The filter must be tightened three-quarters of a turn. You should not tighten its thread as much as possible, since it will be difficult to replace it in the future.
- To add fresh engine oil, you need to manually unscrew the oil filler cap, then carefully pour approximately 3.3 liters of lubricant into the engine through a funnel. We check the level with a dipstick, which should be between the maximum and minimum marks.
- You should also check the tightness of the drain plug and filter, after which you should start the engine and let it idle for about 5 minutes. The first few seconds after the engine is started, the low pressure warning light may come on. However, literally after 10-15 seconds the pump will provide the necessary pressure in the system, and the control lamp will go out.
- We turn off the engine, after which you will need to wait about half an hour, check the oil level and, if necessary, top it up to normal.
This completes all work on changing the engine oil in the VAZ 2112. All work will take you no more than an hour, and you can save several thousand rubles, which you would invariably pay if such a service was performed in a repair shop.

In 1998, the domestic auto industry presented to the public another addition to the VAZ model range with the new Lada-111. The front-wheel drive class B car was offered as a station wagon and was developed on the Tens platform. Lada-111 became the first VAZ car in this body.
It retained all the advantages of its predecessor, and differed from it in a longer body while maintaining the design and almost all the features of the family. When changing the oil, you will definitely need to change the oil filter. Naturally, the best option would be to install a “recommended” filter. However, as practice shows, even our domestic “Salyut” from Samara, which is produced for the VAZ-2108 model, can be used with exactly the same success.
"Oil fasting"
The filter replacement process itself will be standard. Just make sure that the oil from the filter does not get where it is not needed. But the new filter should be filled with fresh oil to approximately half. This must be done in several passes, since the viscous liquid does not penetrate through the holes very well.
Lubricate the oil filter
This “trick” is needed in order to prevent the so-called “oil starvation” of the engine in the first seconds after it is started. In addition, it would not be amiss to lubricate the rubber o-ring associated with this filter with the same oil.
Oil level
For example, if there is too much of it (above the maximum mark on the dipstick), then there is a fairly high risk of failure of the catalyst, as well as the sensor that controls the mass air flow. To avoid mistakes, the reflected light control technique is used, since the color of the oil will be close to transparent.
Can I use synthetic oil?
The 16-valve Lada Priora engine is famous for its ability to accept various types of oil well. In addition to semi-synthetics, which is considered the standard, synthetic motor oil also performs well. It is designed for modern 16-valve engines, so there will be no problems with leaking oil seals or burnout. In addition, this oil works well even in severe frost conditions. The engine will start at temperatures lower than those recommended by the manufacturer.

The VAZ-2112 engine is developed on the basis of the VAZ 2110 engine, but has many modified and changed parts. Units with 16 valves have the following modifications:

First generation 2110, 1995-2009
Compared to the Zhiguli and Sputnik, the 2110 model was perceived as a completely new car, capable of competing with foreign cars at the level of Daewoo Nexia, Chevrolet Lanos and Fiat Albea. At the first stage of sales, the car was offered with an 8-valve 1.5 engine with a carburetor power system. Later, injection internal combustion engines became available: 8- and 16-valve 1.5-liter engines, as well as 1.6-liter internal combustion engines with 8 and 16 valves. Based on the sedan of the same name, the 2112 hatchback and 2111 station wagon were produced. In 2007, production of the VAZ-2110 was moved to Ukraine due to the appearance of the successor to the Lada Priora. The Ukrainian model received the export name “Bogdan 2110”, but in Ukraine itself the car was offered under the Lada brand.
