It calculates the current fuel consumption while driving, based on the opening time of the injectors. That is why, when driving at a speed of 90 km/h and 120 km/h, the on-board computer shows the same consumption.

• use of high-quality fuel. If AI-92 was previously filled, then switching to AI-95 will not solve the problem in the direction of reducing consumption. In both cases, only high-quality gasoline should be poured;
• driving in higher gears. However, you should constantly monitor the tachometer speed - they should not fall below 1500 thousand;
• ECU flashing. The procedure can be carried out for both gasoline and diesel engines; the latter respond better to changes.

Owners of UAZ Patriot turn to service center specialists for electronic correction of the ECU in order to increase power and improve the dynamic characteristics of the car. And this is far from an idle question. No, everything is fine with the external “design”, it’s all about the “internals”. After all, the UAZ concern produces its Hunters with 2 types of engines:

• On the highway at speeds up to 80 km/h - from 12 liters per 100 kilometers.
• In the city - from 15 liters.
• In the taiga and mountains from 19 liters.

And this, whatever you say, is an impressive consumption, despite the fact that a metered injection system is installed. Still, it consumes a lot of fuel even without the transfer case being turned on. It also does not allow you to develop decent speeds on the highway. Although the UAZ transfer case has no equal in off-road conditions.

Diesel

But what can the diesel version say? More precisely, what can you say about him? There are also two engine options here. But both are from the native ZMZ:

• At 98 horsepower.
• At 109 l/s.

Here the fuel consumption picture is more decent. Firstly, the emission standards for both versions are already Euro-3. And for a diesel engine this is very good. Fuel is injected more efficiently, with maximum efficiency. Both options work with a 5-speed gearbox.

And what’s interesting is that, according to reviews from numerous users, the consumption for both options is approximately the same. This:

• urban mode 10-11 liters per 100 kilometers;
• the route takes approximately 9-9.5 liters;
• 14-15 is obtained in the mountains and taiga.

Why is this happening

The main reasons for Hunter's gasoline consumption may be:

• diesel engine, not gasoline;
• incorrect operation of spark plugs;
• constant speed fluctuations, inconsistency on the highway;
• year of manufacture (obsolete parts that came out of proper operation);
• climatic conditions;
• worn piston group;
• unadjusted wheel camber;
• the fuel pump has failed;
• clogged filter;
• year of manufacture of the car;

Look at the programming counter, judging by xx and uoz the machine is sewn. On these software there was a problem with feedback on dk1 during tuning, they corrected it if possible, maybe this is just such an option.

Reset the adaptations and wait for feedback from dk1, you may have to apply the throttle to turn it on. If nothing helps and doesn’t work, then either the problem is in the dk, or change it to a working mod.

On all UAZs with dad, checking the feedback on dk1 after the reprog is mandatory!
