The court made a decision in the case of Ataman Ivan Mamonov
The father of two children, who defended his family and his home... was found guilty.
The Serpukhov court completed the consideration of a high-profile criminal case initiated against Ivan Mamonov, a Cossack chieftain from Obolensk, at that time, the artistic director of the local House of Culture and a village deputy.
Exactly two years ago, Mamonov and his friend were walking down the street in the evening. Both were dressed in Cossack uniforms. At some point, they had a conflict with two tipsy fellow countrymen Nikolai Chichkin and Dmitry Golovenkov. From insults and threats, the drunken guys moved on to demonstrating fighting techniques. Mamonov's cap was knocked off, but with a couple of blows the Cossacks managed to lay siege to the annoying drunkards.
After this, a story began that resulted in a criminal case. Some time later, already at night, Nikolai Chichkin began to break into the ataman’s apartment. Mamonov kept a registered traumatic pistol in his safe. The chieftain did not have time to shoot, but hit the rowdy on the forehead with his weapon. The blow was unsuccessful, as it hit the eye socket.
And then the situation unfolded as follows: Mamonov turned into a criminal, and Chichkin into a victim. And if initially the Investigative Committee recognized Mamonov’s right to self-defense and considered him a victim of an attack, then later the police did everything to make Mamonov a villain and throw him behind bars.
Ivan Mamonov, who was defending his family and his home, realized that the situation was turning against him, so he told his story to journalists. Soon a campaign was launched on social networks in defense of the man #YamaIvanMamonov.
In January of this year, it became clear that Ivan was accused of causing grievous bodily harm to a person who tried to illegally enter his house, and that the father of two children faces up to 10 years in prison.
“The day before, a trial took place in Serpukhov, I was found guilty under Article 111 Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Russia and sentenced to one year of probation and a fine of 300 thousand rubles,” Ivan Mamonov told OKA.FM reporters.
It should be noted that for Article 111 the punishment of “one year’s probation” is quite unexpected and rather mild. But the chieftain and his lawyer intend to appeal this verdict.
— The local court considered that there was no penetration into the apartment, although in the case there is testimony that Chichkin broke the door and broke into my home. I continue to insist that my actions were necessary defense and not an attack. I want a fair decision, so I will go to the Moscow Regional Court, and, if necessary, to the cassation court... There is another important point in this story,” continues Mamonov , “the rowdy realized that he got away with inappropriate behavior, so he can continue to behave aggressively, be rude, insult other people, let loose. And this is already happening. The day before, in Obolensk, Chichkin clashed with a witness in the case who spoke on my side. It was an altercation that was caught on video [ available to the editors ]. In broad daylight, not paying attention to those around him, including children, the victim swore like a shoemaker, provoked another man, made offensive attacks, in a word, behaved inappropriately. The law enforcement and judicial systems, not in my opinion, in this situation did not protect society from an aggressive subject, did not give him a slap on the wrist, this whole story did not become a lesson for him. And if in the future the “victim” attacks or injures someone, it will be on the conscience of those who made him a victim of circumstances.
PS Earlier, Nikolai Chichkin gave an interview to Pikabu, where he outlined his version of what was happening and, answering a journalist’s question, stated that after the trial he would put on public display the materials of the case, which, according to him, could discredit Ivan Mamonov.

Let's start from afar.

But when all the basins, saucepans and buckets on the site run out, the inspired owner of the pneumatic gun begins to try to shoot at objects slightly smaller than the basin. It often happens that a person tries to hit a potato or an apple and is surprised to discover that it is not so easy to do. The owner of the rifle goes on the Internet to a specialized forum and tries to find information there about what he is doing wrong.
And so, when reading several pages of forums, a newbie is bombarded with a huge amount of information and incomprehensible terms. Upon further study of the information, it dawns on him that everything is not so simple, rosy and promising in mass shooting. It turns out that there are a lot of things that he didn’t suspect existed, and that directly or indirectly affect how and where the bullet will fly.
First, he learns what the operating pressure range and plateau are. Since the rifle is direct-flow, the acceleration of the bullet involves the pressure that remains in the tank after each shot. And the pressure in the tank drops with each shot, and he begins to ask a fair question: “How then does the bullet manage to fly out of the barrel at a relatively stable speed every time?” After all, without a doubt, the key to accurate shooting is a stable bullet speed. Later it will become clear that the stable speed of the bullet in the forward flow is achieved due to the fact that the air in the tank, at different pressures in the tank itself, presses the valve to the seat with different forces. The hammer that opens the valve with a blow carries the same impact force each time. The striker strikes equally, the pressure in the reel decreases with each shot, and the force with which the pressure presses the valve to the seat also decreases; as this force decreases, the striker opens the valve wider with the next shot, allowing the bullet to accelerate to the previous speed at a slightly lower pressure, and so on Further…
Thus, when the pressure in the tank drops in direct-flow systems, a stable bullet speed (plateau) is realized. But I should note that the stable speed (plateau) is adjusted over a relatively narrow pressure range. After all, if there is excessive pressure in the reel, the striker simply cannot cope with the valve breaking off the seat and the valve simply will not open or will not open wide enough to accelerate the bullet to the required speed. And if the pressure in the tank is too low, there simply won’t be enough energy to accelerate the bullet to the required speed.
The operating pressure range is the pressure range in which the plateau occurs.
Plateau is a section of the graph of the dependence of bullet speed on pressure (the speed value is plotted on the vertical axis, and pressure or shots on the horizontal) in the tank of a direct-flow “weapon” PCP (or on the serial number of the shot), at which the speed deviation does not exceed a specified value. Typically, a speed spread of up to +/- 3-5 m/s is considered acceptable. It is believed that the wider the pressure range over which the speed fluctuates within the desired limits and the greater the number of shots in this range, the better the rifle is “tuned”.
And now, having understood what a plateau and operating range are, the owner begins to try to tune the rifle. He quickly figures out how and where to turn the striker spring tension and is faced with another problem - overspending.
OVERCONSUMPTION is when the rifle consumes more air than required to accelerate the pellet to the desired speed.
Having read about the overexpenditure and understanding where it comes from, the owner begins to learn how to regulate it by pressing the valve spring. So, in essence, the user discovers two adjustments that are integral to each other. This is adjusting the hammer spring tension and adjusting the valve spring tension. It is with these two twisters that the pneumatic guide begins to learn how to configure the mechanism. And of course he wants to shoot powerfully and accurately. What speeds can he shoot a bullet at? What pressure ranges does not try! What gorgeous plateaus he doesn’t set up! The bullet doesn’t want to fly into the “caliber” and that’s it! Here the owner begins to slowly give up and get used to the idea that an accuracy rifle and an accurate rifle are two different rifles . (And in part this is true. But only in part. He will come to this only after a while). After many hours spent on forums and trying to understand and understand the art of rifle tuning, he would learn a thing or two. He will learn to tune his rifle with good flow rate, understand the principles of air as a working fluid, and understand what happens to the bullet in the barrel bore with certain settings and beyond. He will try a lot, read on the forum and become a confident user of PSP pneumatics. At this turning point, the user will have to make a choice for himself - to remain within reasonable energy levels and shoot relatively accurately, or, having gained knowledge and experience, try to teach the rifle to work accurately at high energies.
Next, I will try to briefly tell you what you should know, but it will be difficult for you to find it in the flood-filled forums.

There is a common belief that a pneumatic shuttlecock has good accuracy within a certain speed range. Modern bullets come in many shapes, lead compositions, and actual calibers. This is why they have different so-called cluster speeds on different barrels and accuracy in general, because the barrels are also different with different twists, different rifling profiles, different numbers of rifling, different grades of steel and different roughness of the barrel surface. All these factors seriously affect the final result. But they influence in complexes of different combinations. This is a complex, almost theological part of the argument.
The fact is that beginners go to forums and try to find out the magic formula for the bullet/barrel/velocity combination. And this is not a complete list of “unknowns” in a long, complex equation. In addition to twist, speed and bullet, there are such things as flow rate (I wrote about this above), chamfer, bullet approach, lead lining of the barrel bore, which depends on the roughness of the surface of the barrel bore and on which the dynamic processes occurring with the bullet in the bore will depend , and, accordingly, the further behavior of the bullet outside the barrel. Also, these processes will depend on the length of the barrel, on the settings of the shock valve group (namely: on the force of the air impact on the bullet skirt and its opening, on the dynamics of the bullet moving along the channel, on where in the channel the bullet will pick up the speed at which the force friction will begin to leave lead in the channel, what kind of lead will it be, how much of this lead will there be and during how many shots will this lead be formed). And it's all connected to everything!
