First steps
Before you dive into real combat, there are a few things you need to do:
- regularly visit the training mode , which the developers recently added to the game;
- play War Mode in a “Custom Match”;
- play in a dynamic 4v4 match in PUBG Lite (if you haven’t installed it yet, do so, the game is free - how to install PUBG Lite);
- Play only in first person view (FPP) mode.
But the main concept of good shooting in PUBG is to control vertical recoil. In a nutshell, when shooting (especially from an automatic weapon with a clip), you need to move the mouse down much more dynamically than we are used to doing in other shooters.
And the most important thing in this matter is practice. Professional players, for example the Korean eSports team, train 8-10 hours a day playing pubga alone . They have a coach, a strict schedule, tasks for each player, analysis of mistakes, and so on, everything is like in a real Olympic team.
Therefore, do not be surprised if after 2-3 hours a week, your skill has not grown. You must either have almost natural abilities and lightning-fast reactions, or fill your training time, achieving results. Approximately 300-500 hours of play will be enough just to begin to understand all aspects, but you can become a real killer closer to 1000 hours of play, and only if you do everything correctly. Training mode
The training has been awaited almost from the very first day of PUBG's existence. A training ground for honing basic shooting skills, but you can also “test out” the physics of vehicle movement and practice landing (landing with a parachute at specified points).
The practice mode in PUBG helps you practice shooting.
To enter the training mode, just press the button just above the match settings. Players find themselves on a small island on which weapons, ammunition, equipment and vehicles are scattered, there is a shooting range and a shooting range with targets. Targets turn over when hit, so you can perfect your long-range shooting. Only available in solo mode.

War mode
Custom game mode - battle between teams (or solo) in a limited safe zone. The main feature is that players are revived after death and parachute back into battle with weapons.
There are several variations of equipment. For example, only with assault rifles or only with sniper weapons. Fast, dynamic combat is ideal for honing your skills.
Filter settings for War Mode:
- region: EU or RU (but there are very few rooms in RU);
- expectation;
- FPP (First Person Point of View);
- open (no password).
You can choose another region, as long as the servers are located as close as possible to your place of residence for a good connection.

General Tips
After you've finished shooting in training and War mode, it's time to jump into the heat. To learn how to shoot in PUBG you only need one thing - practice! Forget about caution, if you want to shoot accurately, hit and kill enemies in batches - land in the busiest locations.

If you want to learn how to shoot, shoot! There is no need to crawl and scurry through the bushes. Long looting is not for us. We find something that can shoot and go ahead and uncover the little scoundrels!
There is no need to worry about the fact that you are often killed and the match ends within the first 3-5 minutes. It doesn't matter. Another thing is important here - your shooting skill will improve every time. From every failure you will learn valuable lessons. Each time it will be more and more difficult to kill you, and you will become smarter and more experienced.
Let's call this the “ aggressive learning stage .”
- Immediately switch to “auto” mode on the selected weapon (if such a mode exists) - if you find an automatic weapon. The “B” button, but I would recommend reassigning it to something more convenient, such as an additional mouse button (if any). In one of the updates, the corresponding shooting mode items were added to the game settings - set it to “auto” everywhere.
- Use attachments and grips that reduce recoil and increase gun stability.
- Consider the distance correctly . Close combat - shoot in bursts while holding the left button in automatic mode. Medium and long distances - it is better to shoot 1-2 rounds at a time. The further away the enemy is, the higher his silhouette you need to raise the barrel - the marks in the sight (x3, x4, x6, x8) will help you orient yourself.
- Do not shoot on the move - accuracy drops significantly when moving. The exception is melee combat.
- Always shoot through the sight - right mouse button. You can hold it down (hip-fire mode) or press it once to switch to aiming mode using the equipment you installed (collimator or sight). In close combat, it is sometimes faster to shoot from the hip than to go into full aim, just keep in mind that when shooting from the hip, accuracy is much worse.
- Squat - crouching or lying down improves accuracy greatly compared to shooting while standing. To do this, you can reassign the squat key to NOT a switch mode, but a CLAMP mode (pressed - crouched, released - stood up), as we do in the same CS:GO. This will allow you to quickly hide behind cover and get up from behind it.
- Hold your breath - in aiming mode, hold down left SHIFT . Reduces scope sway, which will make shooting (especially at long distances) much more accurate. The duration of action is limited and is best used at medium or long distances. There is no time for this in close combat.
- Always carry a dot (reflex sight) with you along with an X (x4, for example). If you have a second weapon and provided that it is not a shotgun, you can put a point on the first slot, and an X on the second (or vice versa, whichever is more convenient for you). At a short distance, the dot (or holograph) performs much better than the same x4, since due to the recoil when clamping, the scope with a strong magnification jumps a lot and it becomes more difficult to control the spray.

What does shooting in RUST give?
As we said above, shooting in RUST makes up a large part of the gameplay. It is with its help that you will fight off enemy raiders or conduct raids on your own.
At the very beginning, your main weapon will be a hunting bow
, then a homemade shotgun, then a revolver. And so on, progressively, until you get to rocket launchers and assault rifles.
Naturally, this path will not be close, and you never know for sure when you will need to protect your resources from enemies. That is why you must be able to shoot with any type of weapon, which is what we want to tell you today.
We will not describe everything completely, but will describe it only in categories. All the same, you will need to train and adapt to shooting yourself, in the game, training both clips and single shots. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and go progressively.
How to control spread in PUBG?
When shooting, the scope throws in two directions - horizontal (left, right) and vertical (mostly up). It is almost impossible to control horizontal recoil, but there are several tricks with vertical recoil.
Each automatic weapon in the game has its own spray - a pattern of bullet hits on the wall . Let's say the Kalashmator (AKM) has one of the largest sprays (due to strong recoil), which means low accuracy, which is compensated by high power and damage. On the other hand, M-ki or SCAR-L have much higher accuracy, especially with body kits, and a small spray (compared to the same Kalash).
First of all, you need to learn how to compensate for the recoil - while clamping, move the mouse down to counterbalance the recoil.
Here the training mode will help again: hold down on some machine gun and smoothly move the mouse down, while trying to keep the sight at one point, maintaining maximum accuracy of fire.
The longer the clamp, the lower you will have to drive it. If you do not do this, the sight will rise up and all your shots will fly over the enemy.

Body kits
The strongest influence is exerted (in parentheses - by how much vertical dispersion reduces):
- compensator (15-20%) or flame arrester (10%)
- vertical handguard (15%), red grip (8%) or thumb rest (5%)
With just two attachments we reduce recoil and increase stability by at least 15%, and if you choose top ones, then by 30%!
You should have these body kits in every skating rink to achieve maximum results. If there are appropriate slots, place shoulder rests, handles and other cheek pads.
Contrary to speculation, a muffler does not reduce spread! And according to the observations of some players, on the contrary, it increases it by about 5%.
Sights: for automatic weapons it is always necessary to install a collimator (dot), a holograph or an additional sight (placed on the side). Do not use sights larger than x3 for clamping

Mouse sensitivity
Adjust the sensitivity so that the base of your brush does not come off the table when you turn the camera . All movements must come from the fingers and hand, while the hand itself must be fixed in the joint. This is advice from pro shooter players.
Then in the game settings we increase the vertical sensitivity . This will simplify recoil control; you will have to move the mouse down a much shorter distance, which will have a positive effect on shooting.
I won’t tell you the exact value, because the general sensitivity in the game and the mouse itself also plays a role here. Just play around with different values and settle on the one you feel most comfortable with.

Gun
A shotgun is a small weapon designed to fire shot or bullet. You will have to rest it on your shoulder and hold it with both hands. If you decide to master a gun for hunting, you will need to learn how to shoot at a moving target.
Therefore, we will learn to shoot taking into account movement.
- So, if the target is moving away and descending, you need to aim a little higher.
- If the target is flying in a descent, you need to shoot, aiming forward under the object.
- If the object rises up, you need to aim forward and slightly above the target.
- For a target flying overhead, you need to aim forward in the direction of the object.
- If an object is running towards you, you need to aim ahead and below it.
- And if an object passes by, it is better to aim forward under it.
Well, otherwise, the principle of shooting is the same, similar to shooting from a rifle. The only difference: you have to pull the trigger quickly and decisively, not smoothly. It's good to learn how to throw a gun on your shoulder, but this requires a lot of preparation. You won't be able to master this maneuver right away. Warming up
First you need to download Aim Botz , since it is best to train on this map. REZ advises choosing one side for training. To do this, move your cursor up and shoot at the top line of each side:
You can also remove the distant line of bots, since it is too far and situations with such distant placement of opponents are rare in the game. Then start warming up.
REZ does a little training before every official match as it helps him warm up. Take the AK-47 and slowly shoot the bots in the head. Don't fire a bunch of shots and don't rush to kill everyone at once: you're just trying to get your muscle memory working.
Strafe
After you have practiced flicks, move on to strafes. Many beginners mistakenly do not pay attention to strafe shooting. To do this, do the exercise: strafe - stop - shot. Take it slow. A slight retreat to the right, they stopped, aimed at the head and fired. Then we did the same to the left side. Then do it faster.
