Only when he removed the terminal from the battery did he calm down. I installed the terminal back - silence. I start the engine and again only removing the battery terminal stops the starter. For some reason, without any doubt, I decided to replace the contacts in the ignition switch, but this did not solve this problem. Tell me, good people, what needs to be done to eliminate this disgrace.

did it happen out of the blue? the retractor jams in the closed position.

I would first disassemble the retractor and take a look. There is an electromagnet there, maybe with some lubricant... talk to it. You can also try to tear off the thin wire that goes to the retractor after closing. It is responsible for the electromagnet, and perhaps voltage is constantly supplied to it, although in the moment the ignition key is released, the voltage should be turned off and the contact should open. Only these experiments are extremely harmful for the starter, because with the same speed as that of a running engine, the starter will quickly break.

change or remove the retractor, and as a temporary measure, after the start you can hit it with something heavy, or even with a pry bar
