Lada Priora (sedan) began production in March 2007; that month only about 1,000 cars rolled off the assembly line, which went on sale at the end of April of the same year. The Priora was built on the basis of the predecessor of the “Ten”; the newest AvtoVAZ car differed from the “Ten” in appearance and updated interior, as well as a large number of electronic innovations. For the first time, a climate control system (air conditioner) began to be installed commercially on Priora; previously, this function was quite rare on VAZ models.
In 2008, the Priora hatchback and station wagon were born, which were less successful than the sedan. Most consumers of hatback and station wagon bodies were people aged 35 years and above, while young people preferred the sedan.
The first modification of the Priora was produced until 2012; at the end of this year, AvtoVAZ is releasing a restyled model with a modified steering wheel, seats, E-GAZ system and a different front bumper.
This modification turned out to be very nice and now the pre-restyling Priora looked sad next to the updated one. At the end of 2013, a year after the first update of the car, AvtoVAZ released a second restyling called PRIORA 2. This car received: an updated radiator grille, an updated rear bumper, a new dashboard, new LED taillights, DRLs and a robotic gearbox and much more.
Some Priora 2 models were equipped with 4 airbags.
In 2021, the last Priora rolled off the assembly line, and it was replaced by the new Lada Vesta model.
Dashboard
Here specialists from an Italian studio changed everything beyond recognition. There is now an on-board computer in the central part. It has been significantly improved. There is an electronic odometer, fuel consumption sensor (average and instantaneous), clock, average speed and other data. For some reason, the trunk opening button was moved to the central tunnel, closer to the gearbox selector. The trunk is quite large. Its useful volume is as much as 430 liters. You can open it from the passenger compartment, or from the alarm key fob. There is no separate button on the trunk lid. Depending on the configuration, a radio may be located in the center console. On newer modifications of Priora, multimedia systems with touch screens are installed. The buttons for controlling the power windows are now located on the doors, and not on the central tunnel, as before. The mirrors are electrically adjustable and heated.
And you can control these functions using a convenient joystick. By the way, these mirrors are already available as standard. In general, everything is done taking into account ergonomics, as it should be in a normal budget car. And even if the assembly is not at the highest level, everything is in its place. And using the main controls is quite convenient.

Otherwise, all the parts are fully functioning without any complaints. Naturally, there are exceptions to all rules and there are many cars with different problems. But as for the first generations, they are not worth buying on the secondary market. The build quality is frankly “lame”. The Lada Priora 2021 configurations in the new body are presented in five versions. Transmission
The gearbox on the Priora was largely mechanical, and only in 2014, a robotic gearbox was installed in the luxury trim levels of the car.
Manual transmission
The manual gearbox received 5 steps and went to the Priora from the VAZ 2110; over time, namely in 2014, a cable gearbox replaced the conventional gearbox on the wing. The cable-based gearbox made it possible to reduce vibrations from the lever and make gear shifting more precise. Other parameters in the checkpoint have not changed.
Robotic gearbox

Interior design Lada Priora
The interior of Lada Priora is an excellent design solution. Neat lines and pleasant colors, comfortable armrests and well-placed control buttons, a modern steering wheel and comfortable seats - all this fits perfectly and gives the interior design of the Lada Priora a unique modern style.
The plastic is not of the highest quality, but the cost of the car does not force us to demand more advanced materials from the manufacturer. Passengers of average height will have plenty of space in the rear seats, and the front passenger can freely stretch out their legs under the glove compartment.
The Lada Priora dashboard is clearly visible to the driver - there is a large odometer on the left, and a speedometer of the same size on the right.
