Well, the number 40 guarantees the preservation of all the properties of the lubricant up to plus 40 degrees Celsius.

• Pavel, Orenburg. I poured Lukoil Genesis 5W-40 into a foreign car and was not disappointed. The Suzuki HL-7 with a 3.6-liter petrol V6 and all-wheel drive is a beast of a machine, albeit an old one. There is no oil burner for 8 thousand km - this is my replacement interval. The engine starts without problems at minus 25 degrees. Genesis has good viscosity characteristics, which are compatible with wide temperature ranges from minus 35 to plus 40 degrees Celsius, judging by the markings. This lubricant has a kinematic viscosity of 13.93 at 100 g. Celsius is one of the important indicators for the harsh Russian conditions. I will also note the alkaline value of 10.24, which indicates the oil’s resistance to sulfur contaminants and its ability to protect the engine from harmful acids, sludge, soot, chlorine, phosphorus and other pests. I am surprised by the high quality of this oil, which, however, has recently become much more expensive, but is still considered one of the most affordable full-fledged synthetic oils on the market.
• David, Irkutsk region. I have Lukoil Armatech 5W-40 Genesis oil, which has quite a few advantages compared to my previous oils, which is quite natural (these were mineral and semi-synthetic lubricants, which cannot be compared with my new lubricant). To be honest, I’ve been driving with this oil for only 15 thousand km, I’ve already had two changes. Toyota Corolla 2004 car with a 1.6 liter naturally aspirated engine. In general, for this old man, the technicians advised continuing to fill in mineral water or semi-synthetic, but engine diagnostics did not reveal any microcracks or weakened seals.
