✅Weapons that can be carried in Russia without permission for self-defense.✅

Gas pistol

According to the principle of operation, the model is similar to a firearm . The charging mechanism is identical; unitary cartridges . A gas pistol fires a gas-forming projectile, which includes:

  1. Active powdery substance.
  2. Explosive powder charge.

Upon combustion, the powder charge (or its equivalent) becomes a gaseous state with high temperature and pressure. An aerosol jet is ejected from the barrel channel under the force of gas.

The active substance is in the state of a crystalline powder . When exposed to temperature and pressure, it becomes an aerosol cloud, ejected at a distance determined by the caliber, type of ammunition and dissector device.

The weapon's range is short, as the cloud quickly dissolves in the atmosphere. Already at 5 meters there is practically no stopping effect.

Some models include attachments for flares . They can be used in an emergency in an unfamiliar natural area, or to scare away animals.

When contacted with a mucous membrane or area of skin, the substances cause an irritating or tear-producing effect.

In terms of force, a point-blank shot is comparable to a punch .
Afterwards, a hematoma the size of a palm and a burn remain on the body. When using gas weapons indoors, partial intoxication of the body is possible. It is necessary to immediately leave the room so that the gas does not poison the respiratory system, and then the entire body.

CARTRIDGES AND MAGAZINES FOR SHOOTING MODELS

1. Examples of remote cartridges include CD and CD+ cartridges produced by OBERON-ALFA. The CD cartridge contains probes with a firing range of up to 5 meters, and the CD+ with a range of up to 10 meters. The manufacturer recommends shooting from cartridges from a distance of 2-3 meters, at which the probability of an untrained shooter hitting the target is highest (civilian use), and the supply of wire can be used to track the target.

When shooting, you need to take into account that a living target is not a target at a shooting range and its movement can be unpredictable in self-defense.

2. An example of light-noise cartridges is the KSh cartridge produced by OBERON-ALPHA. The cartridge fires with a very strong flash and sharp explosion, which is effective as a first step in self-defense.

3. One example of remote cartridges is the taser cartridge for the TASER X2/X3 ECU. The firing range for different cartridge models can be from 4.6 m. The probes are pushed out by compressed air, so the presence of a gas system in the cartridge makes the cartridge a relatively expensive cartridge.

Traumatic pistol

The model is an exact copy of a firearm. Many traumatic pistols have a clip of only 2 rounds , which is not practical. The minimum quantity is 4 rounds . Traumatika shoots rubber bullets.

All models have a shelf life. The average number of shots for a traumatic pistol is 500 . The parameter depends on the design and features of the firing mechanism. Internal contacts can oxidize due to exposure to moisture and dirt. After a few years, the weapon will fail, even if the number of shots fired was minimal for a long time.

Aluminum and steel alloys are considered the most durable . The barrel can withstand heavy loads, so these models are suitable for training shooting.

Barrelless pistols have reduced dimensions , which is convenient for concealed carry. The weapon is traumatic, but the design has been changed. The standard number of charges is 1-4 , but there are models designed for larger shots.
For the barrelless device, traumatic, blank, signal and light-noise cartridges are available.

Magic fire

Probably, the first victims of light-sound weapons appeared long before its concept itself was born: at the beginning of the 20th century, photographers used magnesium powder to illuminate the picture, and those who were photographed were often blinded by the bright flash. It is difficult to say when the development of such weapons began (according to various sources, in the 1960-1970s), but the general public learned about it after one famous case.

The Wasp has no mechanical parts other than the trigger. The ammunition is initiated by an electrical impulse through a contact at the end of the cartridge.

In the fall of 1977, a group of Palestinian terrorists hijacked a Lufthansa plane flying from Palma de Mallorca to Frankfurt and demanded the release of imprisoned members of the German terrorist group Red Army Faction. There were 86 passengers and four crew members on board the plane (crew commander Jürgen Schumann was killed). After four days of flights between Middle Eastern airports, the terrorists landed in Mogadishu (Somalia), where they decided to await the release of the Faction members by the German government. On the night of October 18, soldiers of the German anti-terrorism group GSG 9, together with soldiers of the British SAS, stormed the plane. The whole operation took a few minutes: three terrorists were killed, one was seriously wounded. One GSG 9 fighter and a flight attendant were injured, all other hostages were unharmed. The operation, called Feuerzauber (“Magic Fire”), was included in all special operations textbooks and became the greatest triumph of the German anti-terrorist group. The fighters of the anti-terrorist front owed part of this success to light-sound grenades, which, although not completely, still incapacitated the terrorists, winning a few saving seconds for the liberators, which turned the tide of the operation. Since then, light-sound ammunition has been a mandatory part of the arsenal of any assault anti-terrorist group.

A shot from AntiDOG produces a bright flash, noticeable even during the day, and a very loud sound. And also - a beautiful fiery ring of hot metal particles, which turns into a smoke whirlwind.

General characteristics

Gas and traumatic pistols are used for self-defense . The weapon is not capable of causing grievous bodily harm. The shot is enough to temporarily disarm the enemy and escape.

Self-defense pistols have small dimensions . This allows you to take the model with you without allocating a lot of space in your bag or pocket.

Externally, the self-defense tool looks like a firearm. The differences are noticeable only upon detailed inspection.

Some models of traumatic pistols have the function of firing gas cartridges. Reloading is carried out manually (jerking the shutter after each shot).

Do you need a carry permit?

The pistols in question cannot kill or even injure, but only cause short-term irritation of the mucous membranes of the eyes, nose and throat, and a strong burning sensation on the skin in the aggressor. The attacker will briefly lose or partially lose the ability to actively attack.

However, these weapons require official permission and registration. There is a strictly approved procedure, violation of which is punishable by law.

In addition, we must not forget that self-defense weapons are only a means of self-defense. In the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation there is a definition of “excess of self-defense”, which is regulated, respectively, by Articles 108 and 114 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This means that you have no right to do anything other than pull the trigger and direct a gas cloud at a person who is seriously threatening you.

Distinctive features

  1. Impact on the enemy . A gas gun causes various types of irritation: tearing; skin and eye disorders; burns. Trauma causes physical harm. Hematomas and abrasions remain on the skin.
  2. Impact on others . A traumatic weapon shoots only one person. Those around you do not take damage unless they were the target of the shooter. A gas gun, when used in a confined space, can cause harm to all people in the room, since the aerosol substance completely fills the atmosphere of the room.
  3. Bullets . Aerosol weapons have a wider selection of cartridges, since there are quite a lot of chemical compounds that cause disturbances in the functioning of the body. Rubber bullets are used for trauma.
  4. Hit . The gas gun disperses crystalline powder, which is converted under pressure and temperature into an aerosol state. Since rubber cartridges are used in trauma weapons, the enemy receives an accurate blow to a specific part of the body.
  5. Workout . When using traumatic weapons, accuracy is important. It is recommended to undergo training in the use of the device, or regularly train in equipped shooting ranges or training grounds. There is no requirement to take an operational course to use an aerosol weapon. When used, the fact of the shot itself is important, not its accuracy.
  6. Availability of a license . No permit is required for the storage and use of traumatic weapons, unlike a gas pistol, which is a prohibited weapon.
  7. Operating principle . In a traumatic gun, a shot can be fired by burning gunpowder or expelling gas. An aerosol gun is a firearm.
  8. The effectiveness of self-defense . If a person is attacked by a group of bandits or robbers, a gas pistol is most effective, since it will almost instantly neutralize the entire group at once. When using trauma against several people, a quick reaction is required. If the device must be reloaded after each shot, it is ineffective in this situation.

HOW DOES A CONTACT SHOCKER WORK?

At first glance, the technical side of the operation of a contact shocker is quite simple. Let's look at it using the example of the Phantom stun gun.

The stun gun has a rechargeable battery, which, after being charged from the mains, is installed in the device. The stun gun has a sliding type fuse and a battery status indicator, made in the form of a backlit power button and turns on after removing the fuse.

If use is necessary, the owner of the stun gun presses the “Discharge” button. At the same time, a high-voltage pumping circuit begins to operate in the shocker, which supplies pulses with a frequency of about 250 Hz to the high-voltage transformer located in the front part of the housing. A high-voltage transformer increases this voltage and transmits it, in turn, to the combat electrodes of the stun gun.

The pulse voltage that appears on the combat electrodes manifests itself in the form of an idle discharge: each combat electrode has its own shearing electrode, thanks to which the idle discharge flows from one shearing electrode to another. This protects the shocker electronics from overvoltage and failure during idle discharge.

Thus, thanks to the high-voltage transformer, a high electrical potential arises on one of the combat electrodes relative to the second combat electrode. As soon as a conductive object approaches the combat electrodes, for example, the body of an attacker, the high-voltage idle discharge, trying to travel along the shortest path, will go from one combat electrode to the body of the attacker and return to the second combat electrode.

Manufacturers of stun guns advise applying combat electrodes to the clothing or body of the attacker as close as possible, because with tighter contact, the high-voltage system of powerful shockers begins to work more efficiently due to lengthening the pulse duration.

Which self-defense tool is better?

It is impossible to predict under what circumstances self-defense will be needed:

  • Indoors or outdoors.
  • Against one bandit or a group of people.
  • With or without witnesses.

Traumatic weapons are more accessible because they do not require a permit . A gas pistol requires a license to use.

It is better for an inexperienced user to purchase an aerosol weapon, since specialized skills are not required to use it. If a person wants to have a more professional remedy, they can use traumatism.

MiscellaneousComment

Light or sound weapons

This type of weapon is not designed to cause damage to the attacker; it must produce a psychological effect. Such weapons are especially effective in scaring away dogs.

A prominent representative of this type is the Osa pistol; it is a compact and inexpensive model. A wasp can frighten several attackers at once. The downside is that the shooter himself is exposed to light and sound.

Estonia

Since 2001, adult Estonians can buy and carry concealed pistols (smoothbore, pneumatic and gas). A license is issued after passing an exam at a shooting course. They can take it away for committing crimes, for example, if they are caught drunk driving.

Separate requirements apply to collectors. You can store military weapons at home, however, if the collection includes more than eight guns, you will have to equip a weapons room with an alarm.

The legalization of weapons was introduced for safety and has already borne fruit. The staff of the Estonian police was halved, the murder rate decreased five times. Less than 100 people in the country die from gunfire every year. A significant part are suicides.

Latvia, Lithuania and Moldova have introduced similar measures. As a result, the number of serious crimes has been steadily declining.

The country has 5 weapons per 100 inhabitants. 47 thousand units are registered, about 18 thousand are kept illegally.

The legislative framework

Before you think about buying a weapon, you need to consider federal legislation, what the law dictates in this case. According to Article 24 of the Federal Law on Weapons No. 150-FZ, for Russian citizens, weapons should not be used unless absolutely necessary and should not cause harm to third parties. Citizens of the Russian Federation can use the weapons they have to protect life, health and property. In this case, the following circumstances must be taken into account:

  1. Weapons must be legally owned.
  2. The use of a weapon must be preceded by a clearly expressed warning to the person against whom the weapon is used.

It is prohibited to use firearms:

  • In relation to women, persons with obvious signs of disability, minors, when their age is obvious or known, with the exception of cases of an armed or group attack by these persons.
  • In the event of the use of a weapon, the owner is obliged, no later than 24 hours, to inform the internal affairs body about the fact of the use of a weapon.

There are a number of restrictions on carrying weapons. Prohibited:

  • Carrying a weapon while intoxicated.
  • Carry a weapon while participating in meetings, rallies, demonstrations, sports and other public events.
  • Drawing a weapon if there is no reason to use it.
  • Use weapons of cultural value, antique, collectible weapons.
