Type 91 heavy and Type 95 heavy
Hello everyone, today I will talk about two Japanese tanks: Type 91 heavy and Type 95 heavy. Both tanks belong to the new branch of Japanese heavy tanks.
First impressions of the new Japanese TT branch
After watching the video about the release of the update, it was clear that the tanks would be simply huge. Starting from level 5, the dimensions of the O-I exp. They look very unusual. Almost all Japanese heavy armor does not have a sloped armor, and the thickness of the armor is not very large. These colossuses can only be compared with the Mouse in size and weapons.
(By the way, some of the Japanese heavyweights are even taller than Mouse.). You can say this about Japanese heavyweights. They are huge, cardboard with a pretty good weapon. The uniqueness of these tanks is expressed not only by their enormous size, but also by the small turrets scattered throughout the tank. It is also worth noting that the tanks are large, but their HP is low.
Today I will look at two transitional tanks; you shouldn’t focus too much on them, so I’ll tell you everything briefly.
Type 91 Heavy
Heavy tank level 3. Developed 1927-1932. It was not mass-produced and was produced only in a single copy.
Upgrading modules
There's not much to talk about here. In order not to constantly suffer in battles, you urgently need to upgrade your weapon:
47 mm Gun Type 1
A rapid-fire weapon with good penetration for its level, but the damage is low. And the accuracy is very poor.
After upgrading your weapon, it will become easier for you to play. Next, you should pump up the engine to open access to the next tank.
In battle
In battle, the tank is a cardboard target for everyone who is not too lazy to shoot. We are easily killed by the pz1c, and the T-82 and Bt-7 art. take great one-shots at us. All our troubles are not only because of paper armor, but because of the small amount of HP (250 HP).
The most suitable tactic for us is support. Everything is very simple, we go with our allies and, if danger arises, we hide behind the most armored of them. (Don't try to hide behind Hetzer. It might end badly).
On this tank we are not given the role of being the best. Therefore, they crawled out from behind the “back” of their ally, decided to shoot at the enemy, and rolled back to the “house.”
This is all the tactics, but even this tactics in some battles brings 3 frags.
Additionally
I transferred the crew from tank to tank. Therefore, it’s too early to talk about perks for the crew. I didn't take additional consumables.
Bottom line
Tank cardboard. But even such a cardboard miracle has its tiny advantages...
Type 95 heavy
Heavy tank level 4. Created on the basis of type 91, and therefore very similar to it.
Upgrading the tank
The tank is passable and not very interesting IMHO. Therefore, I will briefly tell you how to quickly get rid of this tank.
When upgrading, you don’t have to be tricky; pumping up the gun will give you access to upgrading the next tank.
The 7.5 cm Tank Gun Type 99 is a top gun with good damage but a long time to aim, much better than the stock one.

COMBAT TACTICS
Our position and role in tank combat does not change. We are still the same support, only now we are occasionally thrown into the top. It is at the top that we have to merge to the delight of our enemies. But if you use the “support” tactic, you will not only have the opportunity to survive, but also do something good for the team.
And by the way, the corpse of this tank is very useful for such little things as BT or T-70. After all, you can easily hide behind the mound of metal that is left behind. A convenient, and most importantly useful tank. I’ll tell you right away about the survivability of the tank. Our tank has 430 HP and practically no armor. If a small thing destroys us with 3-4 splashes, then such a monster as KV-1 with two splashes, and the art is a one-shot.
I think I would suggest to you that you need to play carefully.
Additionally
I didn't install any modules. The crew did not pump. I only took the repair kit with me and rarely used it.
Bottom line
Both tanks are passable and you shouldn’t focus too much on them.
Thank you for attention

Shadow of Godzilla: Japanese TTs in World of Tanks (Part 1) (mod)
Good day, dear readers. The Japanese heavy tanks, which many were so eager to see, have finally reached the vastness of World of Tanks. Now they are on the super test. Let's try to preliminary evaluate the newly minted Japanese, discuss their history, key performance characteristics and fate when entering the base.
The heavy tank branch starts at level 4, namely the Type 95 Heavy
. Let's start with it.
Type 95 Heavy
(level 4)
Type 95 Heavy
was the last entry in a series of multi-turreted tanks developed by Japan between 1925-1930, none of which went into production.
Type 95 Heavy
was developed on the basis of the Type 91 Heavy heavy tank. The tank received thicker armor than its predecessor and was better armed. The Type 95 Heavy was armed with a 7cm main gun, one 6.5mm machine gun in the central turret, a 37mm gun in the front turret and a 6.5mm machine gun in the rear turret.
The suspension system has also been changed. The Type 91 Heavy had 17 or 18 rollers on each side, while the Type 95 Heavy had 9, and the tank had leaf spring suspension.
Despite using a more powerful 290 hp engine, the Type 95 Heavy had a top speed of only 22 km/h.
According to various sources, from 1 to 4 prototypes of this tank were collected.
The very first Japanese TT in the development branch begins to dominate with its size over other tanks of the level. Here, for example, is a comparison of our monster with the not quite “tiny” German heavy tank DW 2.
Having a tank that is not exactly small, we get mediocre armor, reaching 35mm with the given armor being about 50mm at its thickest point.
We are armed with a fairly good 70mm gun with a penetration of 70mm and an alpha strike of 110 units with pretty good damage per minute. But, a very weak engine of 290 hp gives us a very low top speed of 22 km/h and, to put it mildly, mediocre dynamics in general.
Type 95 Heavy
a clear “average” at its level and will be a tasty morsel for artillery and other tanks.
OI Experimental (level 5)
The development of the project for this tank began in 1939 based on the proposal of Colonel Iwakuro. The project involved the creation of a huge tank with four turrets and an original suspension system. The prototype was never built.
Advice
The first huge tank in the Japanese branch, which is slightly smaller than the German Maus heavy tank, and this is only at level 5! Here is a clear comparison with the US T1 Heavy heavy tank.
OI Experimental
armed with an impressive, for its level, 12cm gun with 130 penetration and an excellent alpha strike of 300 units and UVN of -10 degrees.
The tank also has excellent armor – 75 mm at its weakest point. Our hull has the same armor and there are essentially no weak points.
Many noticed the presence of turrets and immediately thought that it, like the KV-5, could be easily sewn there. But no, the turrets also have an armor thickness of 75 mm and are not a weak area of the tank.
The only weak point is located behind the first roller, where shells enter even with small turns. As a result, we have very powerful armor against our classmates, which can guarantee us excellent protection. Tanks of a lower level will not be able to compete with OI Experimental
forehead to forehead.
It seemed that everything would be fine, but the 1200 l/s engine produces 12 l/s per ton for our 100 ton tank. We can only accelerate the tank to the stated 40 km/h from a very steep mountain, but the vehicle crawls at 20-25 km/h.
The tank is quite interesting, but due to its enormous size it will suffer from artillery fire.
OI (level 6)
Project of a 150-ton tank developed by Mitsubishi Tokyo in 1939. It was a mobile firing point with one main one, two additional ones in front and one additional one in the back. Only a prototype without a turret was built and dismantled for scrap in 1944.
OI
already has 150 tons of weight at level 6, and is only similar in size to Mouse. Below is a comparison of the size of our monster to the size of the “huge” SU-100Y.
Compared to the OI Experimental, our tank has much more impressive armor - 150 mm on the front of the hull and the front of the turret. Also, the tank again has 2 huge turrets, which, however, are not its weak area.
note
The only weak point in the forehead is the hatches located on the turret, the given thickness of which varies from 75 to 100 mm, but you still need to get there.
The rest of the tank's armor is 150 mm, located at different angles without any weak points.
We received a gun similar in game parameters to the Zis-6 (top gun T-150), namely 175 penetration and 300 one-time damage with good damage per minute, which is quite good for our level.
We also have an alternative weapon, namely a 15cm cannon, similar in parameters to the “high explosive” from the KV-2 (yes, yes, fans will appreciate it) with good accuracy and CD.
Everything would be fine, but we have 150 tons of weight, and, unlike the 100-ton weight of the OI Experimental, it has the same engine with 1200 horses. Naturally, this has a very bad effect on our specific power, which is about 8 l/s per ton of weight. We reach the maximum 29 km/h only from the mountain; on the “plain” we crawl 20 km/h. It is logical that we do not shine with the speed of rotation of the chassis and turret.

As a result, O.I.
It turned out to be a huge tank, with excellent armor and a choice of guns, but at the same time, it has very poor driving characteristics, which hints at the necessary support of the allies and suffering from artillery.
OI 100 (level 7)
The project of a 100-ton tank was developed in 1940. The device was armed with a 10.5 cm gun and had as many as 11 crew members. The tank was equipped with 2 combined engines of 550 l/s, producing 1100 l/s. A running model of the hull was tested, but the tests failed and the project was closed.
We recommend reading: Self-propelled gun "PANZERJAGER I"
The largest tank in the game, it dwarfs even old man Mouse - very tall, wide and long. Here is its comparison with the 56-ton “baby” German Tiger. Tiger I looks like a toy.
OI 100
despite its size, it has excellent armor on the front of the hull. Here we have from 175 to 220 mm of armor, which in some places has slopes.
War Thunder. Japanese light tank Type 95 Ha-Go (in development)
Type 95 Ha-Go
The start of the closed beta test of the fleet in War Thunder is gradually approaching, and in addition to this, the introduction of one of the most unusual branches of ground vehicles is being prepared - Japanese.
This technique is perhaps the most mysterious and little-known. We will gradually tell you everything we can about her.
We have already written about one Japanese vehicle, the ZSU Type 98 Ko-Hi , now we will talk about the first tank in the branch, the Type 95 Ha-Go .
Layout, mobility and armor of the Type 95 Ha-Go
Type 95 Ha-Go
The layout is simple and even primitive (a 1935 tank): a tank commander in a small turret, a driver mechanic in the front right side and a machine gunner to his left.
A diesel engine was installed in the stern, on the starboard side, with fuel and oil tanks on the left. The shells were located in the turret and to the right of the driver. It is clear that the tank is very easy to destroy if you penetrate the forehead and kill two crew members.
If we want to immobilize it, we hit the starboard side. Set fire - left. Blow up the BC - the tower or to the right of the driver.
Type 95 Ha-Go
The armor of the tank is 12mm almost everywhere, except for the rear (10mm) and the inclined armor plate at the front (9mm), so it’s easy to penetrate the tank with almost any caliber, and it’s even quite possible to kill it with a machine gun.
Thanks to its light weight of 7.4 tons, a fairly good engine of 120 hp. with 180 rpm, the tank has a speed of 45 km/h with good maneuverability.
Ha-Go weapons
Type 95 Ha-Go
Here we will touch on the fact that there are two versions of the tank - 1935 and 1938. Armament of the Type 95 Ha-Go 1935:
Type 94 37mm Gun with 35mm penetration at a distance of 300 meters. Ammunition 75 shells, 0.7 kg each. Projectile flight speed 575 m/s.
Two 6.5mm Type 91 machine guns, one in the rear of the turret, the second in the hull, on the left.
Armament of the Type 95 Ha-Go 1938:
The Type 97 37mm Gun is a new version of the Type 94 gun, only with a longer barrel length, the same penetration, only a higher projectile speed, 675 m/s, which allows you to shoot a little more accurately over long distances, and also not lose as much penetration with increasing distance.
Two Type 97 7.7mm machine guns, replacing the old 6.5 mm ones.
An ordinary tank for beginners who are just starting to upgrade the branch of Japanese ground vehicles is practically no different from the tanks of other nations. The farther you go, the more interesting the tanks become. Follow the news and learn about other Japanese ground vehicles War Thunder!

Review of the Japanese medium tank of the third level: history of development, game characteristics, tactical tips
Introduction
Chi-Ha is a Japanese tier 3 medium tank. When the Land of the Rising Sun was not yet in the game, this unit hung as a trophy in the Chinese branch and did not take a steam bath.
True, for some reason it was classified as light, not medium. Probably, the offended Chinese took revenge on the Japanese aggressors and underestimated the class of the captured equipment. All jokes aside, the gameplay has remained virtually unchanged, the differences are minimal.
But it’s still worth talking about this car.
Historical reference
In the second half of the 30s, the Type 89 , which formed the basis of the Japanese armored forces, was irrevocably outdated and did not meet the needs of the military.
On instructions from the high command, by 1936, two prototypes of the future medium tank appeared - the “Chi-Ni” , weighing 9.8 tons, developed by specialists from the Osaka arsenal, and the 15-ton “Chi-Ha” , developed.
At first, preference was given to the lighter and cheaper “Chi-Ni” , but tests showed that it was not much different from the already existing “Ha-Go” , and in terms of armor protection with weapons it was not suitable for modern wars. As a result, the choice was made on the hero of our guide. In total, from 1938 to 1943, 2,123 tanks and another 757 modifications based on it were produced.
note
This machine managed to fight in many places - from the Siamese jungle to the islands of the Pacific Ocean. The Marine Corps even ordered a version with a 120 mm gun to support amphibious operations. Despite the imperfect design, the unit continued to fight after the end of WWII in the ranks of the Kuomintang army, and then was in service with the PRC. This is how it turned out to be a cosmopolitan tank.
The tank managed to fight in many places
Gaming characteristics
In World of Tanks , “Sneeze”, thanks to the penetrating cannon, became a remote killer. Let's look at its characteristics in terms of the game:
Protection
Our armor is a little better than that of the Chinese “twin”. In the specifications they write about the forehead of the turret being 35 mm, but it is worth considering that this is a fairly small space near the gun mantlet. Everything else is 25 mm, essentially cardboard. Of course, it will protect you from machine guns, but those same landmines will drain the soul out of you. Health is only 240 hit points, so don’t expose yourself too much.
Firepower
We have a lot of barrels, but we immediately discard the 37 mm “holes”. The real choice begins only between the stock 57 mm Gun Type 97 and the top-of-the-line 47 mm Gun Type 1 gun .
These are, in general, almost equivalent guns and, surprisingly, with a 57 mm artillery system you start playing right away at the start. She is good for everyone! Damage, rate of fire and aiming are the same as the top gun, accuracy is slightly worse.
But armor penetration...
Therefore, sooner or later you will switch to a 47 mm gun. Even with a lower DPM value, penetration of armor with a basic projectile of 81 mm and a sub-caliber of 122 mm is decisive even in battles with the fifth levels. Average damage of 70 HP - awesome! The rate of fire of 20 rounds per minute sometimes does not keep up with the tight aiming of 2.3 seconds and a dispersion of 0.44 per hundred meters. But the UVN is minus 15. Where is that much?
Dynamics
Mobility for ST is the main defense! Type 100 Kuurei V-12 engine produces 240 hp, which allows it to accelerate to 40 km/h. Stable speed for a medium tank. Top tracks provide an increase in carrying capacity by two tons and increase mobility by two degrees, up to 32 degrees / sec. Both towers rotate at the same speed - 30 degrees/sec.
Detection and communication
Stock radio Type 94 Mk. 4 Hei the Type 96 Mk if necessary 4 Bo with 425 meters.
Important
But is it worth taking the top Type 3 Otsu ? Yes, it has better radio contact - 550 meters. But the weight will also increase from 50 to 240 kg! What to sacrifice, connection or mobility, is up to you.
The visibility is average - 330 meters, but invisibility became worse when moving from LT to ST. If you don't mind the money, buy camouflage.
Pumping and equipment
What is the best way to learn Chi-Ha ? You can access this tank through Chi-Ni . You won’t get anything from this little guy, because the hentai designers haven’t heard about the unification of modules.
Each tank must be unique! Therefore, you throw free experience on the chassis, then buy a top turret and a 47 mm gun. After this, you can easily go through all the stages up to the most powerful radio station, since you will have to shoot mainly at the “light.”
And only after that we finish off the engine compartment.
The crew consists of four people. The swing is normal for medium tanks. First, we teach the crew "Repair" so as not to stand on the "harp" under fire, and the commander - "Sixth Sense".
Next, we select different skills, adjusting them to our performance characteristics. For the commander - “Jack of all trades”, for the gunner - “Smooth turn of the turret”, for the driver - “King of the Off-Road”, for the radio operator - “Radio Interception”.
Well, in the end we finish off the “Combat Brotherhood”.
As for special equipment, we recommend the damage option: “Improved aiming drives”, “Stereo tube” and “Ventilation”. You will be a support tank fighting from the second line. When the crew is pumped up to one hundred percent, you can replace the fan with the “Camouflage Net”, because at low levels, whoever saw who first won.
We place the following consumables: “Manual fire extinguisher”, “Small first aid kit”, “Large repair kit”. A large “strap” is needed, because even just lying in the inventory, it gives 10 percent towards repairs. The fire hazard of the engine is only 15 percent, so instead of a fire extinguisher, you can take the Onigiri to increase the crew's performance.
UVNs allow you to shoot from the most unimaginable positions
Tactical Tips
Chi-Ha is a medium support tank at levels five and four, as well as a good frag collector at levels three and two. But, like all STs, it is unusually flexible tactically.
It is worth climbing forward only if there is absolutely “sand” around. In other cases, you stand in the wake of the allied column of “Alexes” and choose a more comfortable place for shooting. Then you methodically analyze everything that appears in your field of vision. You have enough armor penetration for everyone, the main thing is not to get exposed yourself. If you encounter a KV , charge your Golda.
For complete cover, use your incredible vertical aiming angles. The cannon tilts down so that even on the steepest slope only a small turret will be visible. It will be possible to shoot from the mountain, even without going very close to the edge. In general, at any cost, reduce the area of your body in the enemy's sights, since at low levels they are still being mowed down ungodly.
Of course, sooner or later you will have to leave a warm and cozy place to move in search of surviving enemies. Please exercise some caution. Don't rush forward like a saiga. Let the more nimble and easy-to-kill “fireflies” do this for you. Move in riffles, from bush to bush, scanning the area ahead with your “horns.” Maximum damage with minimum risk - this is your formula for the game.
Feel free to ignore the LT “automatic machines”, unless they start showering you with “golden rain”. The "holes" cause more problems, but you're usually not foolish when fighting with the ultimate 47mm cannon.
Advice
High explosives pose a great danger, both from artillery and from various traveling “high explosives”, such as “Hetzer” and “Grosstractor” .
And if you can still hide from one-button ones behind a hill or walls, then it’s better not to get caught by direct fire - they’ll get a one-shot.
Develop a tactical sense, as your armor is unforgiving.
You must always keep in mind the number of living enemies, and also determine their probable location from the mini-map, so that in case of a sudden maneuver you do not suddenly find yourself under destructive fire from an ambush.
Always respond to requests for help from allies by moving forward to support. If you are left alone, nothing will help you - you will have to commit seppuku.
The path of a warrior is the path of death. Leave the hangar with the thought of death, be prepared for it

pros:
- Wonderful gun
- Chic UVN
- Small dimensions
- Circular booking
Minuses:
- Insufficient armor
- Not the best dynamics
- Oblique gun
- Throws in A's
Chi-Ha is a classic medium support tank that will find its use at any level to spite the “balancer”.
Most players do not understand how to play it, so after playing a couple of dozen battles, they get rid of it with a clear conscience. In vain! It's hard to find a more dangerous gun at such a low level.
If you are a fan of shooting peaceful demonstrations of “deer” from a safe distance, then “Chikhun” is your choice.
