Air rifle "Junker 4".

The Kalashnikov assault rifle is a world-famous weapon, so it is not surprising that it becomes an indispensable attribute of almost any entertainment event where small arms are used. In this case, both simply weight and size models are used, as well as airball versions, and, of course, pneumatic models of machine guns.

Both domestic and foreign have presented their own versions, which has specialized in the production of small arms for many years and produces a pneumatic version of the Kalashnikov assault rifle, called the “Junker”. Previously, the same plant created models of the Junker 1, Junker 2 and Junker 3 assault rifles, which have long since found their owners. Now you can see the new Junker 4 assault rifle in gun stores.

There is still very little expert information regarding the operating features of the new Junker model. Somewhat contradictory information is also coming from the owners of these weapons. This is because Izhmekh produces the fourth Junkers in two versions: the first is a copy of the AK-74M assault rifle, and the second is the AK-105 model.

"Junker-4" isp.07 - a rifle for 4.5 mm metal spherical bullets with a folding machine gun stock and a plastic forend (appearance similar to the AK74M assault rifle).

In the combat version, both assault rifles have a caliber of 5.45, and the AK-105 was developed on the basis of the AK-74 assault rifle as its shortened version. Therefore, the Junker 4, modeled after the 105th, is more compact and somewhat lighter than a copy of the AK-74M.

Technical characteristics of "Junker 4": Caliber: 4.5 mm (.177) Bullet speed, m/s: 120 Muzzle energy, J: 3 Number of loaded bullets: 30 Barrel length, mm: AK-74M - 415 / AK-105 – 327 Weight, kg: 3.4 (AK-74M) / 3.2 (AK-105)

The pneumatic filling and characteristics of both versions of “Junker 4” are the same. The gas cylinder mechanism of the rifle is non-removable. It is built into the receiver. The picture below shows it with the horn removed.

"Junker-4" version 01 - a rifle for 4.5 mm metal spherical bullets with a folding machine gun stock and a plastic forend (appearance similar to the AK-105 assault rifle).

This design causes controversy both among the owners of this model and among those who are only interested in pneumatic machines. It should be noted here that the previous model “Junker 3” had a gas cylinder mechanism in the horn itself. A spray can was inserted into the frame and bullets were loaded into it. All this was hidden under a casing made in the form of a carob magazine. Thus, the horn could be attached to the store at any time and fired. The Junker 4 model has a frame-housing pressed into the receiver. A cylinder is inserted into it, which is pressed and held by a lever mechanism. The 30-ball magazine itself is similar to narrow pistol magazines. It is inserted into the horn. In this case, the magazine protrudes beyond the horn - from the side of the attachment to the machine gun. The casing in the form of a carob magazine, in turn, is put on the cylinder unit and secured with a standard latch.

The stock folds to the left side.

Thus, the previous Junker model was more similar to a real combat machine gun, including in the way it handled weapons. Among the disadvantages, I would like to note the high cost of the entire store system. At the same time, the new “Junker 4” spends less time equipping weapons, both due to the removable magazine and thanks to the lever system for preloading the cylinder. There is also less cost for spare replacement magazines. The butt of the "Junker 4" is plastic. It can fold to the left towards the receiver. Despite the more capacious magazine - 30 balls versus 18 in the previous model - the machine does not fire in bursts. Although earlier it was suggested that the fourth “Junker” produced by the Izhevsk plant would fire automatically, as does the new PPSh model.

Fuse

The safety lever on the Junker 4 works the same as on a real AK. It serves as a safety device and a translator for firing single shots. Although, as noted above, there is no burst shooting. The metal parts of the weapon are black oxidized. The butt, fore-end, handle and gas tube cover are made of synthetic materials. And in conclusion, I would like to add that the Junker 4 assault rifle (or rather, judging by the technical characteristics, an air rifle) has good accuracy.

The front sight block is combined with a gas chamber, a mock-up of a small-sized AK flash suppressor.

Power point

The power unit on the Junker is the same as on all the latest models of the IZH concern. This is a water-cooled Yu6 engine (inherited from Jupiter). What can we say about an engine that is already twenty years out of date! But in the absence of anything else, all that remains is to list the advantages and disadvantages. Yu6 is a two-stroke two-cylinder internal combustion engine. Its working volume is only 347 cubic centimeters, and maximum power is measured at 24 horsepower. The operating frequency (according to the technical data sheet) is approximately 6000 rpm, but in fact this value is overestimated. The actual range is 5000 rpm.

U6 is suitable for any gasoline with an octane rating of at least 80. The ideal “food” is AI-92. There is no need to pay attention to the quality of the fuel. The two-stroke engine is not susceptible to bad food. But it’s still better not to take risks and refuel your favorite bike at proven stations.

The consumption of the same fuel per hundred kilometers is relatively small. Within the city this is 7 liters, on the highway at a speed of 90 km/h this number decreases to 5.5 liters, and on a flat road at a speed of 60 km/h it becomes completely ridiculous - only 4 liters per 100 kilometers. Two tanks hold 15 liters, respectively, at average costs, the motorcycle can last 300 kilometers without refueling. Also, do not forget that the Yu6 is a two-stroke engine, so you should always add 2T oil to the gas tank after each refueling. After all, the lubricant comes with the fuel.

Izh Junker is a recreational motorcycle that you have most likely encountered more than once, but you would not even suspect that this motorcycle came out of the assembly line of the Izhevsk plant. It’s not for nothing that it is considered one of the most beautiful models of domestic production. Let's look at it in our selection.

Story

The rank (rank) was assigned to military personnel who were candidates for the first chief officer rank, and later also to students taking a course in science in military educational institutions (military and cadet schools) in Russia. In addition to cadets in the infantry, there were ranks similar in meaning to them in other types of weapons (according to modern ones in the branches of troops and forces):

  • cadet bayonet in artillery and engineering troops;
  • estandart-junker
    (
    standard-cadet
    [1][2]) in the heavy cavalry[3] and among the hussars[2] - a soldier in charge of the standard in a cavalry regiment and carrying it;
  • fanen-junker - the same in the light cavalry.

The rank of guard cadet was equivalent to the army rank of second lieutenant.

In 1851, the Russian Navy introduced the ship's rank of cadet, which in its legal status was equivalent to the ship's rank of conductor. This naval rank was awarded to persons with a higher education who entered the naval service as volunteers and were eligible for promotion to chief officer, and later - to students of higher military educational institutions of the Russian Navy (except for the Naval Corps). Navy cadets, after passing exams - first special, later in the scope of the program of the Russian Naval Corps or a naval school, as well as special classes - were promoted to midshipman or, if they had the appropriate specialty, to second lieutenant of the Russian Navy. During the period of the simultaneous existence of the naval ranks of cadet and midshipman, the latter could be demoted to the rank of cadet for violations of military discipline.

Estimated cost

Production of IZH Junker has stopped , and it will no longer be possible to purchase a new motorcycle.

But for those who still want to own a motorcycle that is so non-trivial for our motorcycle industry, help can be provided by the secondary market, where it is still found, and the cost of this unit is not at all high and ranges from 30 to 90 thousand rubles.

At one time, this motorcycle was awarded the State Quality Mark - IZH Jupiter 3, the technical characteristics of which ensured reliability.

The design of this IZH motorcycle is made in a classic style and differs little from the appearance of its contemporaries.

Driving the Izh Junker motorcycle is pleasant because of its flexibility and excellent dynamics. You shouldn’t expect him to be a champion in races, but it won’t be too difficult for him to get around a difficult turn almost silently and go smoothly along problematic roads.

In this video you can take a closer look at this beautiful motorcycle, enjoy the sound of the engine and see it in action.
