Ravon is a new automobile name in the mobility market. The brand appeared relatively recently: on October 8, 2015, a presentation of the brand itself took place. The Ravon brand, however, was not founded from scratch, but has a certain history. It begins in 1992, almost immediately after the collapse of the USSR, and until 2012 - this is the existence of the Uz-Daewoo joint venture: Daewoo is an automobile company from South Korea, and Uz (Uzavtosanoat) is a company from Uzbekistan. A new plant was built and several successful cars were produced: Nexia, Matiz. The cars were extremely popular (especially the Nexia) due to their low price and reliability. Mariz - appeared much later and was not so popular, also due to its small size.

The plant also produced other car models (Damas, Tico), but they were not so popular. Again, sedans were the most popular in the post-Soviet space.
Chevrolet Damas
In 2002, the Daewoo company was bought by the automobile concern Gerenal Motors (GM) and the steel plant began producing cars under the Chevrolet brand (the brand belongs to GM).
Later, new cars were produced, large-scale assembly was established, and cars were produced in different countries under the Daewoo and Chevrolet brands, although in fact they were the same cars, but with different emblems.
In 2015, a new brand (Ravon) was created and now Chevrolet cars (formerly Daewoo) are produced under a separate brand.
As you can see, the story is quite confusing, but of course the buyer needs to know the following: Ravon cars are assembled in the same factories (to the same standards) as Daewoo and Chevrolet cars. For the buyer, this is a plus, since large concerns have the highest standards and supply only high-quality products.
GM Uzbekistan
The reason for the rebranding and where did the Ravon brand come from?
The main reason for the rebranding was that the automobile concern General Motors Uzbekistan found itself in a difficult situation due to the ban on using the Daewoo logo and brand name in its products. Legally, all rights to use them belong to , while General Motors Uzbekistan, according to the terms of the contract, received the right to use it only for cars supplied outside of Uzbekistan.
On the territory of Uzbekistan, the entire line of General Motors Uzbekistan cars is known as “Chevrolet”. Cars are supplied to foreign markets under the brand (name) - Ravon. They have nothing to do with China (many people think that Ravons are Chinese cars) and are a GM development.
With the arrival of spring, the owners of the Daewoo International automobile concern decided to terminate the contract for the use of the logo and name with General Motors Uzbekistan . Thus, the Korean automobile corporation, together with a group of investors, prepared the ground for the serial production of Daewoo cars in Saudi Arabia.
In 2021, it became completely state-owned and was renamed UzAuto Motors →. The state-owned Uzavtosanoat fully purchased the shares of GMUzbekistan and became the sole owner. But this does not mean the end of cooperation with the American concern - General Motors continues to remain a technical partner of UzAuto Motors.

The Ravon brand comes from Uzbekistan. The cars are produced at the joint venture GM Uzbekistan.
The same cars are sold under the same name in different countries around the world. For example, Ravon Gentra is called Chevrolet Aveo in other countries, and in Russia a similar car was previously sold, but with the name Chevolet Lacetti.

Ravon R2 automatic
This is the youngest representative of the line of Uzbek cars - it is positioned as a car for use within the city. The design and technical part of the → mini-car are borrowed from the well-known 3rd generation Chevrolet Spark.
External differences between Ravon and Chevrolet are almost invisible. The exterior alteration affected only the radiator grille and the format of the front bumper. This did not affect the laconic silhouette and aerodynamics of the car in any way. Technical changes can be called more significant; for example, the hatchback's chassis was redesigned taking into account its use on low-quality roads.
Spark's configurations included a choice of small-displacement gasoline engines. The power unit could be paired with a non-alternative five-speed manual transmission. In turn, the P2 is available with one engine option and automatic transmission.
In terms of balance between price and quality, this is the most affordable car option in its class with an automatic transmission.

First of all, it is necessary to note the Ravon Gentra sedan, which has long been known to Russian car enthusiasts. Of course, this 4-door has long been known under the “Uz-Daewoo” brand. But in 2015 it changed its name. The golf car itself has not undergone significant changes since then. And in 2021, the car’s interior was slightly refreshed. In Russia, Gentra (and other models) are sold in 3 solutions - comfort, optimum and elegant.
Gentra is a representative of the affordable C-Class. First of all, its advantages include a spacious interior and a superbly tuned suspension. The car copes with the first hundred kilometers in 11.7-12.6 seconds, and accelerates to a maximum of 169-170 km/h. Ravon Nexia R3 sedan
The budget 3-volume B-segment car was presented in Moscow for the first time in 2015. The car is a redesigned version of the Aveo T250 and repeats the prototype almost completely structurally. The car has a high level of equipment, comfort and safety.
This car is equipped with a single gasoline engine - an atmospheric inline four S-TEC III, which meets Euro 5 environmental parameters. With a working volume of one and a half liters, the unit produces 107 horsepower at 5,800 rpm and 141 Nm at 3,800 rpm.
Power is delivered to the wheels by a 5-speed manual transmission, but you can order a version with a 6-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission. Acceleration to hundreds occurs in 12.2 seconds, and the maximum speed with a manual transmission is no more than 180 km/h. Fuel consumption in the city varies from 7.7 liters to 8 liters.
Hatchback for the city Ravon R2
R2 is a 5-door compact, which is a version of the 3rd Chevrolet Spark, which also appeared in Moscow in 2015. R2 is deservedly considered the most affordable passenger vehicle with automatic transmission on the domestic market.
The small car is equipped with a 1.2-liter engine with automatic transmission, and is very similar to the Chevrolet Spark externally and internally. The unit produces 85 horsepower after 6,400 rpm and 111 Nm at 4,800 rpm.
The car accelerates to the first hundred in 12.4 seconds, and can reach a maximum of 161 km/h. In the city the car consumes 8.2 liters of fuel, on the highway – 5.1. 12 color schemes have been developed for the city car, including very bright yellow and red shades. As a result of rebranding, Matiz only changed its name and emblems. In all other respects it remained unchanged. Of course, it still won’t take part in races, but it is a nimble car and doesn’t require much parking space.
For Matiz, a 0.8-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine is installed, the output of which is 52 horsepower at 5,900 rpm and 69 Nm at 4,600 rpm. A 5-speed manual helps ensure the hatchback accelerates to hundreds in 17 seconds, and the maximum speed does not exceed 144 km/h. A small car consumes 6.8 liters of fuel per hundred kilometers.
In addition to the above-mentioned well-known and not so famous cars, the manufacturer promises to expand the model range through the future production of SUVs and urban crossovers.

According to the Uzbek manufacturer, the interior will be filled with modern options, the functionality of which is designed to make driving the crossover comfortable.
Future owners of the Ravon crossover can safely expect modern interior features, including:

- audio system with speakers;
- open compartments and drawers for storing documents and other things.
Despite the compactness of the car, its spaciousness will not cause any complaints. This is confirmed by both the interior with folding seats in two rows of passengers and the luggage compartment. Of course, this can only be expected taking into account the correspondence of the restyled model to its prototype.
It is unknown whether the dimensions of the body will change, but if we assume that the manufacturer does not intend to release it beyond the subcompact class, then with a high degree of probability we can say that the dimensions will be as follows:

- height will be 1674 mm;
- ground clearance 170 mm;
- the parameters of the distance between the wheel pairs will be equal to 2555 mm.
Based on the identity of the technical platform of the new product and the Chevrolet Tracker, we can assume that its weight will range from 1285 to 1382, depending on the configuration.
The manufacturer will offer a choice of power units. The buyer will be able to choose the following options for his iron horse:
- 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine. A car equipped with it will accelerate to the first hundred in 9.8 seconds. The maximum speed will be 180 km/h. The expected fuel consumption per hundred is about 6.5 liters in the combined cycle.
- 1.8 liter naturally aspirated petrol engine. The power will allow you to accelerate to hundreds in 10.9 seconds. The optimal speed is limited to 180 km/h. Fuel consumption, according to preliminary calculations, will be 7.2 liters per 100 km.
The crossover is planned to be supplied to the Russian market in front- and all-wheel drive versions. Car enthusiasts have long expected models with 4-wheel drive from the brand.
