The GAZ 3302 is equipped with a number of power units:

The onboard GAZ 3302 is equipped with an in-line, powerful diesel power unit with turbocharging, manufactured at the Gorky Automobile Plant. The engine is equipped with a microprocessor fuel supply system control. Engine capacity is 2.2 liters, with a power of 95 hp and a torque of 204 Nm.

Transmission and brakes

The GAZ 3302 is equipped with a manual 5-speed gearbox, which is combined with both gasoline and diesel engines. After modernization, the operation of the transmission improved, and the clutch pedal became softer. The speed began to change easier and softer, the car began to move smoothly. The front wheel brake system is ventilated, disc with 1-piston floating caliper. When you press the brake, the piston presses the pads against the disc. The rear wheel brakes are drum brakes, with 2-piston cylinders, and have an adjustable automatic clearance between the drum and the pads.

After modernization, thanks to the German Bosch vacuum booster, the brakes became softer compared to first-generation cars . The brake fluid for the clutch and brake system is in the same reservoir.

Chassis characteristics

The front and rear suspension of the truck is located on longitudinal leaf springs and is equipped with hydraulic shock absorbers. Springs with a large or small number of leaves can be installed. The front suspension is dependent, kingpin, constructed from a stamped I-beam using kingpins with steering knuckles.

The rear suspension is dependent, located on two semi-elliptical longitudinal leaf springs with additional springs. A plastic gasket is installed between the main and additional springs. When the car is loaded, the edges of the additional springs rest against the rubber cushions.

Fuel consumption

For older cars with a mileage of 12 years or more, the specifications indicate fuel consumption of 11-12 l/100 km for mixed mode. In fact, Gazelle consumes 15-16 liters. Sometimes, depending on the series and condition of the engine, consumption reaches 20 l/100 km.

On new modifications of the Gazelle, especially with a diesel power unit, fuel consumption is 9-10 l/100 km in mixed mode.
