The 1.8 engine with 180 horsepower was very impressive. Huge power reserves at any speed. Traveling on the highway became just a walk. Overtaking has become elementary - 3 seconds and that’s it! Consumption on the highway is less than 7 liters at speeds of 130-150 and the air conditioning is on, in the city - 10 liters.
A very comfortable box, both in normal mode and in sports. Very soft shifts, quick response to the gas pedal. The stabilization system is absolutely fire!

The Skoda Octavia A7 is good at extreme driving or acceleration on the highway. But in traffic jams everything is not so good. The culprit of the hassle is the DSG robot, which tries to climb “up” as quickly as possible. This is especially annoying at speeds of 30-50 km/h. As soon as you start in a traffic jam, you reach 40 km/h, and the gearbox is already in the fifth stage and... it simply takes the engine out of the working zone - the tachometer shows a little more than a thousand revolutions, so further acceleration will either be painfully long, or you will have to push the pedal all the way down and prepare for throw forward when the DSG engages second. So it’s better to use sports mode right away.
The Octavia A7 is unshakable - it is not unbalanced by uneven roads and at the same time it is very good in high-speed curves, even on these mediocre "chubby" tires. The main thing is that the coating is dry - Nexen does not hold up “on water” at all! And in terms of comfort, it outperforms the Elantra - both smoothness and sound insulation are better.
