The most common gearbox problems on the Lada Granta car

I'm interested in your opinion. Has anyone been able to KILL the automatic transmission in their car, or is this the most reliable unit in the Lada Granta, since it is not made in Russia. It’s not an idle question, I’m just planning to change my car to a standard one with an automatic transmission. Does it make sense to change a manual transmission to an automatic transmission? Thank you in advance!

The other day (Wednesday 11/26/14) I bought a Lada Granta with an automatic transmission in a luxury version, drove the automatic for the first time for 20 km and have already gotten used to it. I’m happy!

I also rode one like this. I liked everything. Congratulations on your purchase!

Thank you. I like everything so far, I hope it stays that way!

I’ve been driving for two years now, 31,300 mileage, no problems, the car is generally excellent, I wasn’t going to take ours, especially with an automatic transmission, but I went and looked at it and liked it, and now I couldn’t be happier. I advise

Normal automatic transmission, 30,000 with a trailer - normal flight

I drive a Grant automatic transmission, everything is fine, quite fast. The only thing is that the gasoline consumption is high (12l). Granta with automatic transmission is a thing)) it accelerated to 180 km/h without problems))

Automatic is the issue, but after 140 km/h the acceleration dynamics drop very noticeably

It's a 4-speed automatic and you don't need to expect anything more from it. I really understand this. Logan stood behind me on the highway at 100 km/h. At 140 it was still holding on, but when I went to 170, it was lost in the mirror, although on the tachometer I had somewhere around 4600-4700 rpm in 5th gear. In our family we also have a Kio Rio with an automatic transmission, and at such speeds with 4 gears it is too tough. But on the A4 with a 7-speed robot it’s a piece of cake. So maybe a grant with a Japanese automatic transmission, I understand. I'm interested in its reliability with our engines.

80,000 km with automatic transmission and no problems.

My car is already 14 months old and the gearbox shows its best side. At TO2, the technician checked the oil and showed me that the level was normal and the oil was clean.

There is an option for inflicting serious “corporal” injuries - turn on the “P” mode at speed. This should break the parking latch. I also read that a man had a piece of metal that holds the shift lever cable to the gearbox lever fall off. 50 rubles and 10 minutes of work. But he drove a tow truck to the dealer (I think).

We once managed to tear off the cable on the A6 (we were slipping back and forth in the snow).

Grant's sister has an automatic transmission. There are no difficulties, unpretentious. The main thing is to use it correctly. And another important factor - with an automatic transmission there is less ground clearance (from the gearbox housing to the road), so it is necessary to install protection.

Of course, protection is needed. I immediately installed it on my mechanics.

and I already crushed it

I drove 35 thousand - everything is fine... I was turning it here the other day until the gearbox fastening broke, the engine and gearbox sank... and in the end the hose broke and the automatic transmission oil leaked out from 5 liters - 3 liters... I had to find it by marking, it costs 450 rubles per liter... but there is something like this for 700 Well... so you need to look more carefully. The duralumin fastening is rubbish and fell apart into three parts - a new one costs 700 rubles (though it’s difficult to find). By the way, I’m glad that everything worked out this way... the master said that the left oil was poured in because... it wasn’t red, but like engine oil... this shouldn’t happen! In general, the box works great... the only thing you need to do is install protection, otherwise you never know!

Modern equipment of domestic cars allows anyone to become the owner of high-quality and comfortable transport. Many buyers pay special attention to the installed power systems and transmissions.

Particularly interesting to current drivers are the characteristics of an automated transmission, its pros and cons. The easiest way to get acquainted with the box “from the inside” is the opinion of the owners themselves. The owner reviews with a full description of its characteristics will help you understand the nuances of the Lada Granta automatic.

Driving characteristics and dynamics Grants with automatic transmission: pros and cons of modification

In addition to a thorough analysis of the operational features of the box, the current car owners pointed out equally important components: the chassis and the engine. As for the suspensions, not all buyers are satisfied with the performance of the elements.

Most of the negative impressions relate to the rear suspension, which in some cases makes squeaks and requires regular inspection and improvement. Driving on uneven roads has a very bad effect on the movement of the car: drivers noted strong vibrations and shocks in the cabin.

Insufficient damping of vibrations by the suspension did not allow us to fully enjoy long trips in a Grant with automatic transmission. And these descriptions apply not only to off-road driving or nature trips with the family.

Many drivers working with the delivery of products or advertising materials pointed out the problems of movement in populated areas with poor quality roads. Therefore, for the Lada Granta automatic, owner reviews are not entirely positive.

Buyers traveling exclusively in urban areas did not notice such problems. No jumps or squeaks appeared. True, it still didn’t feel particularly soft even when driving on a flat road.

Although, the car behaves quite confidently, excluding the appearance of rolls or skids. The Granta with automatic transmission takes turns quite neatly, and when used in winter, it allows you to drive over icy off-road conditions in complete safety.

There was also a lot of good feedback regarding the dynamic characteristics. For example, drivers highlight the accuracy of the engines, the absence of problems when moving to high speeds and the absence of jumps in speed.

The modified units really stand out for their quality and reliability, allowing for quick trips. Therefore, about the modern Lada Granta with an automatic transmission, owner reviews contain high marks for speed characteristics.

Despite receiving less power when using an engine with an automatic transmission, there were no complaints about acceleration and maintaining high speed.

As for fuel consumption, owners of Grants with automatic transmissions said quite a lot. When driving in a metropolis, it requires quite frequent refueling, so many drivers are dissatisfied with excessive fuel consumption and significant financial expenses.

Owners who use the Grant for trips to the country or nature, who use it for transporting luggage and delivering products, as well as for travel, noted the economical operation of the transport.

Some reviews indicate numbers in the range of 6-6.5 liters per 100 km. Therefore, in terms of efficiency and dynamics, the Lada Granta with automatic transmission has pleased many buyers.

How it works on the move

There is a button on the handle that needs to be pressed when switching from “park” to “drive”. Subsequent activations do not require pressing this button. To switch to reverse speed, you also need to press the key.

Roll-up function: when you release the brake pedal, the car in mode “D” begins to roll slowly.

When driving on the road, shifts are smooth, but you can feel them. If you compare it with modern boxes, there will be a difference. If you don’t bother in general, then a Lada Granta with an automatic transmission will be quite sufficient for you. There is a slight hesitation when you press the gas hard.

Interior equipment of Lada Granta with automatic transmission: opinion of owners

Most drivers who use vehicles exclusively for work noted the rather advantageous equipment of the car. The model includes all the necessary settings that allow you to spend time on the road comfortably and safely.

For example, for the convenience of long winter trips, a high-quality stove is provided, which, according to reviews from owners, warms up the interior in literally 5 minutes. This heating system allows you not to worry about being on the road for a long time and is especially important for owners involved in transporting a variety of goods.

Features of automatic transmission on Lada Granta

Automatic transmissions "Grants" differ in design and operating mechanism.

Robot design

Device VAZ-2182:

  • clutch engagement actuator (the unit includes a clutch fork rod, an electric motor, a drive gear, a wear compensator and a compensation spring);
  • gear shift mechanism (consists of a rod, two electric motors, gear shift and gear selection drives);
  • clutch fork;
  • speed sensor;
  • selector knob.

The model used with a single clutch disc is considered obsolete. Manufacturers of foreign cars have switched to preselective robots, the design of which includes 2 clutches.

Hydraulic automatic machine design

The 4-speed is based on the development of the Nissan REF403A. Japanese engineers modernized the model: they made the machine more powerful, reduced weight and production costs. The transverse hydraulic automatic is designed for installation on a front-wheel drive passenger car with an engine capacity of no more than 1.6 liters. The automatic transmission design has 4 units:

  • torque converter - a unit that ensures the transmission of torque from the engine to the input shaft;
  • control valve block - consists of various sensors, solenoid valves and an ECU module;
  • planetary part - consists of two planetary gears, allowing for 4 speeds, among the components of the unit are 3 multi-disc clutches, a multi-disc brake, an overrunning clutch and a brake band;
  • clutches and brake mechanisms - clutch elements responsible for selecting gears and switching between speeds;
  • pump - supplies working fluid to the torque converter and other components.

The classic Lada Granta automatic transmission differs from a manual transmission in that there is no direct connection between the engine and the wheels. The working fluid is transmission oil.

Jatco engineers have provided protection against driver errors. The electronic unit prevents incorrect manual gear shifting. If the car is moving forward, then it will not be possible to engage reverse. A separate system analyzes the temperature of the unit and signals when there is unacceptable overheating.

Specifications

The AvtoVAZ robotic gearbox operates in 4 modes: automatic, reverse, neutral, manual control. When choosing the latter option, the driver changes gears independently, while the clutch is controlled by the computer. The robot can change from manual mode to automatic if the engine accelerates to high speeds that could damage the transmission.

Automatic transmission

The Lada Granta automatic transmission has 6 operating modes: forward, reverse, neutral, parking, and also forward with a limit of up to 2 gears. The control system consists of sensors that read all vehicle parameters, an ECU and performers - solenoids. Actuators change gears using servos.

The machine parameters have changed. The installation of an automatic transmission on the Lada Granta led to a change in ground clearance (up to 140 mm from the standard 160 mm). The weight of the car increased, which resulted in the adjustment of the shock absorber springs (changed to stiffer ones). The trunk volume remains the same – 480 liters.

Service details

The instructions for the VAZ-2182 contain a recommendation to change the oil every 75 thousand kilometers. From the factory, the box is filled with Rosneft Kinetic Service 75W85 GL-4 with a volume of 2.25 liters.

The Lada Granta automatic transmission is considered one of the most unpretentious automatic transmissions, but it also requires timely maintenance: checking the level of the filled transmission, changing the oil and oil filter (although, according to the manufacturer, the transmission fluid will be enough for the entire service life of the box). According to the recommendations of the official dealer, the oil needs to be updated every 60 thousand kilometers.

During the replacement process, the technician assesses the condition of the hydraulic machine. If there is a large amount of metal shavings on the magnets, it is worth carrying out a major overhaul of the unit. It may happen that a complete oil change will “kill” the machine, so it is better to disassemble the box and check the integrity of the internal components. The technician must remove the box, disassemble the assembly, replace clutches, seals and gaskets and other worn or damaged elements. The JF414E hydraulic unit fails in exceptional cases; its flushing is required extremely rarely.

From the factory, the automatic transmission is filled with Nissan ATF Matic-S or Genuine EJ-1 transmission fluid. When replacing, it is better to buy the same oil, although JF414E is tolerant of other compounds. The total oil volume is 5.4 liters; a partial replacement will require 3 liters of fluid. Together with the transmission, the coarse filter and the pan gasket of the Grants gearbox are changed.

When checking the oil level, the dipstick must be wiped with a lint-free cloth. Small foreign particles in the transmission fluid will negatively affect the operation of the automatic transmission.

If the car's computer begins to signal errors, you need to carry out diagnostics. To do this, the Lada Granta is driven to a showroom or car service center. You can take readings yourself. To do this you will need an on-board computer – multitronics. Some “Grants” configurations are equipped with it from the factory. Not everyone likes the standard device installed in the console, as it has limited functionality. Car owners buy and install multitronics with a color display and a wide range of options.

Fuel consumption by automatic transmission on Grant

The efficiency of the car depends not only on the engine power, but also on the type of transmission box. Consumption of 95 gasoline for cars with different types of transmissions and installed engines is presented in Table 1.

Gearbox comparison

Table 1. Fuel consumption of Lada Granta

Gearbox typeEngine volume and powerCombined cycle fuel consumption per 100 km, l
Manual transmission1.6 l, 106 hp6,5
1.6 l, 87 hp6,8
Manual transmission1.6 l, 106 hp6,5
Automatic transmission1.6 l, 98 hp7,2

The data given in the table are factory data, i.e. obtained as a result of a test, and not in real conditions. Actual consumption depends on the weight of the loaded vehicle, road conditions, driving style and usually deviates upward. According to owners' reviews, in winter, when the car is warmed up and when driving mainly in the city, up to 16 liters of fuel can be consumed per 100 km.

General opinion of buyers Grants with automatic transmission

According to new owners of a Granta with an automatic transmission, and those who have already tried the car on the road, one can highlight its practicality and reliability. Regardless of the model’s configuration, its dynamic characteristics, internal equipment and the presence of comfort systems allow it to stand out among a number of modern cars.

Some reviews from owners of a Lada Granta with an automatic transmission contain an opinion about the need to purchase this vehicle and the possibility of completely replacing foreign cars with it. The reason for these conclusions are the following features of the domestic model:

1. Reasonable cost and inexpensive service (you can purchase any part from official dealers).

2. Reliable engine operation (optimal dynamics and economical fuel consumption).

3. High-quality active and passive safety systems (driver's airbag, ABS as standard).

4. Good performance of the heating and media system (with a USB drive or mobile device).

5. Spacious interior and roomy trunk (standard 480 liters and 960 liters with the rear row folded).

6. Possibility of unique modification of the style of the vehicle (body and interior elements for tuning can be purchased from private sellers or in official showrooms).

7. The versatility of the model: suitable for family trips and travel, for work (equipped with mounts for child seats, allows you to conveniently adjust the seats, has a high ground clearance of 16 cm).

Many drivers who travel on rough roads did not like the performance of the suspension. Although when driving around the city they do not create problems and ensure a smooth ride.

True, when stuck in traffic jams or moving within a city with active traffic, a significant increase in fuel consumption is possible.

Some owners also noted the lack of body strength. But with careful driving and proper control, this feature does not affect the operation of the car in any way.

Despite minor shortcomings and problems in the operation of the model, the general opinion is positive and most buyers recommend it to their compatriots.

Due to the careful attention to detail, the Lada Granta automatically received owner reviews with really good ratings.

Most drivers noted the attractive combination of price and quality received. At the same time, service that is accessible to any customer is no less important: any workshop will be able to perform high-quality diagnostics or repairs.

Therefore, there is no need to search for repairmen for a long time or overpay when purchasing spare parts and installing them: the owner will not have to spend a lot of time or money checking and restoring the car.

It was the JF414E automatic transmission that the designers of the Lada Granta chose for installation on the luxury versions of these budget cars.

Advice from experienced car enthusiasts

Cars with automatic transmission are in high demand among consumers. Control of such a box is available to both experienced professionals and novice drivers. Errors when operating an automatic transmission lead to damage to its elements. The cost of an automatic transmission differs significantly from its mechanical counterparts.

A few tips will help you avoid unpleasant situations with an automatic transmission:

  • constant monitoring of the oil level in the gearbox;
  • timely replacement of transmission oil;
  • when driving, you must operate the gear selector smoothly and carefully;
  • When completely or partially changing the oil in the gearbox, you must use only recommended brands of lubricants.

Subject to simple generally accepted rules for operating an automatic transmission, its integrity and stable operation are guaranteed. If you follow the tips presented, you can significantly save money on repairing both the box and the car as a whole.

Now more and more vehicles equipped with automatic transmission are coming off the assembly line. This trend is due to the fact that city traffic is characterized by constant traffic jams with frequent stops at traffic lights, and driving a car with automatic transmission makes life much easier for the driver. Since many drivers are abandoning a manual transmission in favor of an automatic, the question of how to properly drive an automatic remains relevant for them and for beginners. What features are worth knowing about, and what mistakes do drivers most often make?

An automatic transmission is a type of transmission whose operation is based on selecting the appropriate gear ratio automatically without driver intervention. The choice of gear ratio directly depends on the speed, nature of movement and some other parameters.

Another feature is that there is no clutch pedal in such cars; it is carried out using a torque converter, the purpose of which is to transmit torque to the wheels.

Automatic transmission Lada Granta: history and specifics

Initially, the grants were planned to be equipped with “automatic machines” from a more famous manufacturer - the Japanese company Aisin AW60-40. But, despite the fact that even at that time this box was considered obsolete, its cost was still higher than that of the JF414E from another Japanese manufacturer - Jatko.

It was this fact, and not the reliability of the automatic transmission, that determined the choice of Russian automakers. At one time, these boxes were also installed on Almeras (and exclusively on Russian-assembled Almeras), but over time they were eventually replaced by similar Aisin boxes. So today the JF414E is installed only on domestically produced cars.

To be fair, it should be said that the reliability of the four-speed JF414E is no lower than that of its Aisin counterpart. Grand holders need not worry about this item.

Problems and repair of the Jatco machine

In total, a little more than 10,000 cars with automatic transmission were sold (so far these are mainly the Norma configuration, not the Luxury one), so it is still difficult to find out about problems with the automatic transmission version. How to find owners who have traveled more than 150,000 kilometers.

Dashboard of Lada Granta Norma configuration

A large range of spare parts makes repairing the JF414 simple and cheap; the box is similar to its relatives: RE4F03A, JF403E, JF506. One or another installation consumable from them may be suitable and cost much less.

This automatic transmission is installed on budget front-wheel drive cars; its design and characteristics have been simplified as much as possible. The first batch of automatic transmissions revealed problems with the bearing on the pump hub, which could completely collapse, however, this problem is unlikely to occur on modern versions of the transmission. The new version of the automatic transmission for VAZ comes with normal bearings.

How often are components repaired and oil changed on the JF414E automatic transmission?

The first thing Grant owners have to deal with when it comes to automatic transmissions is changing the oil. And this despite the fact that the automatic transmission manufacturer claims that the oil in these boxes does not need to be changed throughout their entire service life. However, according to car service experts, this is not the case.

When the automatic transmission is systematically overloaded (and, given the low power of VAZ engines, this happens often), the transmission fluid becomes contaminated quite quickly - already by the end of the first hundred thousand km. car mileage. It is at this moment that the first replacement should be made.

Most mechanics are convinced that these automatic transmissions are not capricious and are not particularly sensitive to the brand of oil. They say that you can fill them not only with oils recommended by the manufacturer, but also with their numerous analogues. On the one hand, this is true: both the JF414E valve body and its mechanical component will not suffer at all from this, but the contacts of the solenoids (valve unit valves) begin to oxidize much faster, which very soon leads to failures in the transmission. In this case, an experienced technician will immediately determine what the problem is and that on the JF414E automatic transmission the repair will consist of cleaning the valve contacts and generally checking the functionality of the transmission electronics.

Features of operating a car with automatic transmission

The JF414E is configured to mechanically activate only the parking mode, all others are activated electronically. It is not recommended to turn on “Parking” when the car is located on a slope. In this case, you must use the handbrake.

Other features:

  1. A pleasant surprise for inexperienced drivers will be the “foolproof” function. If by chance the R position is engaged while moving forward, this will not lead to damage to the automatic transmission. Reverse gear will only engage after the car has come to a complete stop. This function can be useful when the car is stuck in the mud and the driver is trying to get out of the trap by rocking, alternately turning on D and R, back and forth.
  2. When O/D (overdrive) is turned off, it is displayed on the instrument panel with the “O/D off” light. If it is not lit, the mode is on. It is recommended not to use it when driving in traffic jams and at low speeds, although the manufacturer does not make such recommendations in the operating manual.
  3. During the cold period, the automatic transmission does not engage gears higher than second until it warms up, so there is no need to switch gearbox modes back and forth.
  4. When the automatic transmission temperature is above 114 °C, overheating protection is triggered. The “gear” light on the instrument panel lights up, the ECU independently blocks the torque converter even when the “overdrive” mode is turned off. Due to this, the load on the gearbox is reduced, and the temperature of the ATF (automatic transmission fluid) of the box decreases. The situation is not an emergency, and movement can continue.
  5. In such cases, you need to pry and lift the PRND plastic cover. An unlock button will become available on the right side of the shift lever. If you press it, the selector will move. This can be useful when, for example, you need to roll a car out of a parking lot and the switch is in the “parking” position.

Dashboard Lada Granta

The technical characteristics of the Lada Granta automatic transmission Jatco JF414E (AY-K3) allow us to classify the car as a million-dollar vehicle, that is, with a gearbox service life approaching 1,000,000 km.

VAZ defines the resource more modestly: 200 – 400 thousand km. But with a caveat: with correct operation and timely service.

Diagnostics and repair of Lada Granta automatic transmission: features of VAZ electronics and fault detection

Oddly enough, but it is the wiring that is the weakest point of this box. Apparently, the quality of the Russian assembly of the car is affecting it. Its most common malfunctions are:

  • Oxidation of solenoids contacts;
  • Violation of wire insulation;
  • Broken wires and connecting clamps.

Fortunately, all these problems are easily fixable. The main thing is to understand the reason for the failure of the automatic transmission and this is done using computer diagnostics of the car.

The difficulty here is this: the VAZ ECU does not have the function of storing transmission errors, therefore, if these errors appear and disappear, it is impossible to calculate the faulty unit, guided by the information received from the control unit. You have to literally “catch” a malfunction, which is not so easy to do in a car service center. But shouldn’t the master ride along with the car’s owners, waiting until the gearbox “fails”?

Therefore, the masters solve this problem in a very original way: the car is installed on a lift - so that its wheels do not touch the ground - and in this position the transmission is tested in all modes - from idle engine speed to reverse gear. As a result, the breakdown manifests itself in one way or another and the technician finds the faulty unit.

Repair of Grant automatic transmission and valve body in our service center

In addition to the wiring, it may be a hydraulic unit that has failed due to the same low-quality oil. Thus, oil clots, coupled with contaminants that have entered the transmission fluid, clog the valve body channels through which the oil circulates, resulting in failures when switching to a particular gear. Repair of the Grant automatic transmission in this case consists of disassembling the valve body and thoroughly washing it.

Simultaneously with cleaning the hydraulic unit parts from contaminants, the technician performs a troubleshooting, that is, determines which of them have been subjected to excessive wear. If there are too many of them, then repairing the automatic transmission may simply be unprofitable and for the Grant automatic transmission, replacement will be, from an economic point of view, the optimal solution.

Description of the main operating modes of the automatic transmission

For all cars equipped with an automatic transmission, the mandatory functions are automatic transmission modes, which are indicated on the control panel by the Latin letters P, R, D, N. To switch to one of the modes, the driver operates the range selection lever - selector. Externally, this mechanism is very similar to the usual gear shift lever installed on a manual transmission. The main difference is the way the automatic transmission is controlled. The driver does not need to be distracted from the situation on the road in order to switch to another operating mode.

  • P – parking mode (parking).
  • R – reverse (reverse).
  • D – forward movement (drive).
  • N – neutral gear.

Additional automatic transmission modes

Automatic transmissions of modern vehicles with a large number of operating ranges are equipped with several additional programs. To take advantage of additional features, drivers here use special switch buttons:

  • ECO mode (economical);
  • sporty S;
  • kickdown—maximum acceleration;
  • winter;
  • emergency.

When you turn on the economy program button, fuel is consumed in a minimal amount, thanks to the limitation of the speed range in each gear. When switching to a higher level, the power unit first operates at idle speed, gradually increasing it, but not reaching the maximum. This program ensures smooth, quiet running of the machine.

In S sport mode, the combustion engine operates at full power, which is utilized to the maximum by the gearbox. When the automatic transmission is switched to the next gear, the rotation of the output shaft is completely transmitted to the box, developing increasingly greater acceleration.

In maximum acceleration mode it is convenient to overtake on the road.

The emergency mode program is activated by the electronic control unit when a malfunction occurs in the ECU or automatic transmission. While in this mode, the car has the ability to independently drive in one gear to the nearest service center without switching.

Additional causes and troubleshooting

The car moves backwards, but to move forward you can only engage first gear (there are no others). This means that the control valve located on the centrifugal speed lever is jammed; the teeth of the helical gear of the gear shift axis are broken; the cotter pin holding the helical gear on the switch axis was cut off, or the valve responsible for the operation of the speeds was simply jammed.

It is necessary to flush and clean the valve, install a new gear and mount a new gear selector. Insert a new cotter pin and clean the valve system.

During normal driving, when you have to move along a long climb, turning on the last gear, the car slips. The downshift is triggered prematurely. This means that very little oil has been poured into the gearbox, the cuffs have worn out and there is significant wear on all the sealing rings, and the discs have stopped working.

It is necessary to fill in the required amount of oil and replace all broken parts with new ones.

If the gear lever is set to “N” and the Lada Granta continues to move, then the cable adjustment is incorrect and the drive lever does not work well. Perhaps the piston clutch is stuck or the discs are not moving away from the plate due to long towing.

It is necessary to adjust the drive cable and repair the clutch block. Remove all broken parts, replace them, install others.

The speeds are switched at high speeds - this means that there is a poor setting of the cable that controls the operation of the throttle mechanism, or the centrifugal regulator is jammed. Maybe dirt got in and clogged the filter mesh or the throttle valve got stuck.

It is necessary to adjust the cable, blow out and clean the valve. Install another filter and clean the valve system as a whole.

When the accelerator pedal is pressed sharply, there is no inclusion of a lower gear, the so-called kickdown. There may be several reasons:

    The pressure sensor stopped working.

To eliminate the problem, you will have to replace the pressure sensor

A new pressure sensor and a new switch need to be installed. Clean the switch valve and replace broken wires. Then adjust the cable that controls the throttle valves.

Troubleshooting

You can diagnose an automatic transmission malfunction while driving

Automatic transmission failure or malfunction is quickly detected when the vehicle is moving. The first characteristic signs are:

  • strong jerks;
  • the transmission does not engage;
  • oil leaks;
  • indicator flashes.

These signs require immediate attention and repair. Some faults in the gearbox of a Lada Granta car can be fixed by an experienced car enthusiast. Basically we are talking about the simplest operations:

  • eliminating oil leaks;
  • spontaneous switching of speeds.

Perhaps the fault lies in the connection of wires and contacts. Repairing the Lada Granta box will only come down to cleaning the contacts.

Is it possible to tow a car with an automatic transmission? Many people believe that it is impossible to tow a broken Lada Granta on a cable. This is true, but towing is entirely possible under certain conditions.

If you drive at a speed of no more than 50 km/h for a distance of 25 km, then the front-wheel drive Lada Granta will feel great. After an hour of cooling, you can continue towing. Four-wheel drive vehicles cannot be towed.
