Presented at the Detroit Auto Show, the third generation Focus has changed dramatically compared to both predecessors. The car completely got rid of angular shapes and received a streamlined and dynamic appearance. Thanks to this, the silhouette of the car became more coupe-like, and it was the three- and five-door hatchbacks that stood out with a special style. The wheelbase has remained virtually unchanged (+8 mm), but the body length has increased to 4532 mm for the sedan and 4357 mm for the hatchback. At the same time, thanks to the new design concept, it was possible to achieve a lower drag coefficient - 0.274 for the sedan, and 0.295 for the hatchback (for comparison, the previous sedan had 0.310). This became possible, among other things, thanks to a reduction in ground clearance by 10 mm. At the same time, the suspension became stiffer, but directional stability improved, and thanks to minimal roll, the car became more stable in corners. The car received many electronic systems and was also equipped with new turbo engines of the EcoBoost family. Moreover, the Focus for the first time received an electric version with a 100 kW motor, a power reserve of up to 120 km, and a top speed of 137 km/h.
